THE FESTIVAL IS ON!
The Regulatory Board of Mendip District Council has this evening granted the application for a Public Entertainments License for Glastonbury Festival 2002.

The Meeting lasted for over 6 hours. If you'd like to read the full details from the meeting, click here.

Below are the updates direct from the meeting.

23:05 ITS ON! - More details to follow

22:48 Neil says decision is imminent and its looking good... He'd better not show his ugly mug around here if he is wrong!

22:39 Still waiting, 4 votes yes to 1 no out of 13.... Sorry if access speeds slow, there are '000's of users online with us...

21:58 Board now back and deliberating...Lots of people in the Chat Room failing miserably to stay calm...

21:40 Result expected by 10:10, now over to Peter Snow with the swingometer.....

21:35 Comments concluded, short break, then the Board will sum up.

21:26 Floor open to Public comments...

21:10 Regulatory Board now about to start considering what they have heard

21:01 Mark Cann standing up and responding to all the issues raised by emergency services - getting close to a decision now.

20:58 The Ambulance Service are NOT objecting

20:54 The Fire Brigade have given their view and are NOT objecting

20:15 Police Summing up - Not saying whether they will or won't police the Festival.

19:15 The Regulatory Board must share my concerns about Neil's health as they have broken for a tea&wee break. Emergency Services next up to voice their concerns. Neil's impression is that the Police aren't too convinced with the arguments made so far.

19:10 I'm worried about our newshound Neil who is in the meeting. He hasn't texted me for 20 mins and he's been in there for over 2 hours without a fag, could get nasty....
