Objections lodged against next years license too! Fri 22nd Dec 00 It's been confirmed that Glastonbury Festival organiser Michael Eavis is to be prosecuted after too many people got in to this year's event. Mendip District Council - the licensing authority - has confirmed that it will take action over an alleged breach of the music festival's licence and a noise abatement notice. It's expected that both cases will be heard on the same day sometime in January.
The festivals official website says a license for next years festival was submitted on 15th December, but objections to a 2001 festival have already been received from some quarters. Unfortunately, that's all it says - it doesn't say whether these are objections sent to MDC regarding a license for a 2001 festival, or whether received by the festival organisers.
