I'm Sophie, and I'm 16 and Scottish, and I'm lucky enough to have been to a fair few festivals for my age. I adore music, and discovering new bands and strange new sounds. That's what reels me in, as long as it sounds different I'll make time for it.
Some of my favourite bands are Radiohead, Blur, Pulp, Animal Collective, LCD Soundsystem, Wu-Tang Clan and The Smiths. I never miss a Benji B, Annie Mac (she is actually something like my life tutor, love her so much), Robbo Ranx or a Heatwave radio show. I enjoy a gig at the Barrowlands as much as I do a night in the Sub Club. I don't see the point in judging people on what they listen to, but I do respect how willing someone is to listen to new acts. Folk who stick with the same 3 bands for months at a time bore me, I don't know how they can do it!
Summer 2011 I'll be at Leeds, Glastonbury and Rockness. Absolutely buzzing to see Pulp, Death From Above, Simian Mobile Disco, Beyonce, The Strokes, The Chemical Brothers and Modeselektor.
I'm quite political and am a member of SSY (Scottish Socialist Youth). Make of that what you will!
I read loads and I watch loads of films. I adore David Lynch; my brother used to scare me by showing me clips of the Log Lady when I was wee but it still hasn't put me off his work. Come to think of it my brother introduced me to a lot of odd films.
Some of my favourite writers are Irvine Welsh, Bret Easton Ellis, Haruki Murakami, George Orwell and Stephen King, but I'll basically read anything.
Twin Peaks, Buffy, Peep Show, Sex And The City, Spaced, Flight Of The Concords and Limmy's Show are some of my favourite programs.
