darrenbha
I was thinking could plan the crawl to end at the cider bus before the levellers at leftfield.
halvin
No Bimble Inn? You could add the Cider Bus and strictly stipulate a half... ... they hardly count, inbetween more normal strength things (such as 3.9% Wherry ale, for sale in most bars, gives you more stamina than supastrength lager ... rubberducky
Ladies and Gentlemen, I present the Glastonbury Pub Crawl: http://www.halvin.co.uk/junk/glasto_pub.pdf It can only be done on Thursday onwards due to bar opening times. Important disclaimer: if you manage a full pint in all 20 bars in one day, you'll probably die.
rubberducky
mmm it's a bit of a tight schedule. at 40 mins per bar I reckon 20 mins stagger time to next bar, 5 min bog break, 10 mins queue time, leaving 5 mins to down the pint

rubberducky
It's an ambitious schedule! To be honest, in my experience things always fall apart after about 10 drinks and it's hard to keep moving if the group's too large. Doesn't stop you having fun, though. Last year we had 'one pint, move on' rule on Thursday night and it was good fun -- definitely beats sitting at one bar for hours -- but we could have done with some kind of plan. I think a good way to do it would be to pick a bar and follow the trail for a while. That said, if anyone's up for the full monty I'm sure it's possible. Like WoW said, have a 3.9% bitter in each and you should be able to keep going.

rubberducky
I've raced back from the gym because a thought has occurred to me: unlike a normal pub crawl (where you have to drink your drink in the pub), we can multi-task -- we can drink while staggering, queueing and (if you've got the knack) peeing. William of Walworth
So long as we're not working, which is possible that evening, we might join in for some of this but not all ... we like leisurely drinking ! Also, there's some solid acts on at Leftfield that evening ... before the Levellers, I mean.

darrenbha
I enjoyed king blues last time i saw them and fancy catching PAMA International. Also think it may be an idea to be in the vicinity before the levellers anyway

darrenbha
Thursday will clearly be a day of fine drinking in the sunshine before reaching the leftfield tent
mr_bizarre
I worked at the Leftfield bar last year, it was such a wonderful place to be, fantastic bands/speakers and really friendly bar staff This years line up is better then at some festivals I've been too! Richard (The Tent manager) is well chuffed! I have been hidden away in Shangri-La this year but don't start till Friday so I'll almost certainly be crammed in for some drinking and dancing I'll keep my eyes open for all you guys, and hopefully you can't miss me as I have a rather large orange cross on my hoodie front and back
darrenbha
Sounds like you'll be pretty easy to spot mr bizarre. Was it the leftfield tent that done cocktails last year? Or was it just a weird trippy dream

They were mixing some fantastic Mojitos amongst others. Yum! We got pretty drunk on those watching The Beat on which ever night it was they played.....Friday I think?
