Big Ground

I'm afraid you don't get to choose your car park - you go where told! If this happens to be miles from where you want to camp it's hard luck. Total pot luck, some years you win, some years you don't. The only dedicated parking that I know off is the Disabled car park. Still at least it takes the worry out of where to park! B)

At the moment the Big Ground is marked up as family camping, does anyone know if the organisers have confirmed that?

We always go for Kidney Mead and use the Blue route. Last couple of year's have been in car park E3 and the walk was not too bad and avoids the big hill in E13 - but saying that, you really don't get a choice as to which car park. The family camping is usually next to the big ground (the other side of Muddy Lane) - can't see them changing that

I think you will find they have changed that, hence my beginning the thread. The map will change again before the 25th June but most of it at this stage is pretty definite.

You can check the map out here >>>Fine Guide map for 2008

Yeah - you're right. Think that's got to be a typo - it's normally in Cocksmill Meadow which is easier to control (entry and exit). Do we know if Muddy Lane wil be closed for pedestrians again?? Must have been an annoying job for the 24hr stewarding to stop us walking up there

Looking at the map it seems strange that they have cut big ground in half and given one half to family camping.

Always thought the family camping the other side of muddy lane was a good idea.

Answers on a post card !

having family camping in front of the main stage seems a bit odd to me.

with loud raucous rock and rolling and boisterous hip hop going on till half 12 or so....wont somebody please think of the children?

heh heh, although admittedly im more concerned with the absence of my beloved juice bar than any sympathy for juvenile hearing issues.

  • 1 year later...

The current fine guide map would not suggest that nothing has changed from last year.
