Me and my mates are doing Europe in the summer and want to hit the festivals on the way. The thing is, most of us are all beat addicts and want to rave our heads off in the process. Europe is good for rock music but is there anything good on offer in terms of electronic music?

Obviously we're going to do Exit, and we're considering SONAR too, but are there any others, mainstream or small, that we shuold know about? IN particular in August

I raved until 8am every morning then slept on the beach all day until 6 or 7pm then started drinking again...for 4 days!! its amazing...in fact I have my 2008 ticket already!!

The Netherlands have multiple one day festivals:

Dance Valley  (last year on July 14)

Mystery Land (last year on August 25)

Awakenings (last year on June 30)

With almost every two weeks a dancefestival during the summer in the Netherland, it's hard to mention all of them. Just pick one: Sensation Black, Sensation White, Rotterdam Dance Parade, Q-Base, Emporium, Lovelands, Ground Zero, Decibel Outdoor, RockIt open air.

It all depends on which music you like

There's a few in Germany as well, Sonne Mond Sterne, Melt! and Fusion come to mind, all three of them are supposed to be great, even thoiugh I've only been to Melt!
No lineups are known yet though.

I know it's an old thread but Boom Festival in Portugal is held every two years over the full moon in August. It's trance and it's a long shift at around 5 days but it's quality. On this year 2010.
