How come there's no second stage at IoW

I had an ace time last year, so I'm not moaning or anything, but with the mad crowding at the Strongbow etc, I think having a second stage as an option would be so great - nothing massive, just something that could handle 4,000 or so. Maybe like an acoustic tent one day, indie another day and more rocky another day?

Is it space constraints, financial or otherwise?

I think the main reason is space, there just aint enough to another main stage in.

secondly just having the one main stage is what makes the Isle of Wight Festival different among other things.

I think the main argument is people like the one stage thing. I personally think its shite. Spend most of my time in the campsite because of it.

I hope this big top rumour is true and from what ive heard on the island, its a big possibility.

Personally i'd welcome a second stage as i would like more variety from a bands perspective. I know there is the strongbow tent etc but it's still not quite the same for me as most of those are more DJ/Dance music focused. I think a smaller acoustic type tent would go down really well, where bands like The Cribs/The Hoosiers/Wombats etc can play and even headline (Like the virgin union tent at V) and would also give up and coming bands a chance to perform there.
