CaledonianGonzo
Was just reflecting that in space of a few years recently at the G I've managed to see Yoko Ono, Burt Bacharach, Ronnie Spector, Dawn Penn, Sergio Mendes, Cerrone, Dr John, Bobby Womack, Marcus Valle and The Congos. And in the same timeframe I've conspired to miss Mavis Staples, Ernest Ranglin, The Zombies, Duane Eddy and more. Holy balls. Crate-digger's Delight. What a place. It's given us all so much.
fatyeti24
I've missed my fair share and probably much more, but I did find myself wandering by West Holts a year or two back just as Roy Ayres started playing Everybody Loves The Sunshine. I'd intended to see him, but you know how it is. I stood there listening to a song being played that I've listened to many, many times, silently thanking the gods of serendipity. CaledonianGonzo
Ah....I missed Royster. Not sure where I was, but it must have been something equally attractive for me to have sat it out.
Avalon_Fields
It's given me some of the best moments of my life. And over the years, 316 bands. I have to keep a note of them all as I cling to the memories... Still, I've missed as many that I wish I'd seen as well.

CaledonianGonzo
I can confirm that I have partaken of the Conor Thrills and the lads live experience. I'm sure he's at leisure to ponder the irony of releasing a single querying what happened to someone who used to be vaguely well known.

The Nal
Freddie at Live Aid pales in insignificance to Deasys words here from 4 mins 55. "Beb Geldof". Back on topic, Don't Worry Kyoto was an unexpected highlight and cleared up my hangover. Also made more interesting that she appeared to be singing "Don't Worry" in a thick Dublin accent. https://rutube.ru/video/ddd1f5140219090abdc48f36f775ce35/ Edited March 9, 2018 by The Nal

Not exactly a feel-good hit now that the answer is 'er... he's dead (and was probably abused as a child)' either.
Homer
(Christ, this thread has got me remembering just how shit the Thrills were now - not pleasant!)

In this instance it's obviously pretty vague, but older less stadium-y artists with mibbe less widely known jams - the sort of music yer cool pal would put on a mixtape for you. In summary, not The Thrills.
henry bear
Off the top of my head - John Martyn (a few times), Fela Kuti, Weather Report, Gil Scott-Heron, Dr John, Curtis Mayfield, Marianne Faithfull. Going back a bit.
