Yeah it's pretty enough but her lead singles are usually big so can't help feeling a little underwhelmed. Still pleased she's back though.

Confidence Man’s debut is pretty fun, doubt I’ll still be listening to it this time next year but it’s a good summer album and I’ll definitely try and see them at Primavera. There’s a couple of moments on there which sound like they could be on Screamadelica.

And yeah, Conny Man have slapped it out of the park. No question. There's gonna be a busy sunny afternoon Park slot for Janet and the lads next summer.

Don't think I've seen him mentioned here and can't say I've ever listened to him before now but the new Saba album is brilliant. Not a lot of hip hop has caught my ear so far this year but this is up there for me.

 

And that whole Confidence Man album is a goddamn jam. Seems like it'd be an total hoot live/at a festival. Hope they stick around touring enough to show up at Glastonbury next year.

Also Tinashe finally released Joyride and it's a bit of a disappointment. Aquarius was getting constant plays from me on it's release but the songs on this one just don't seem as good. Not terrible, but pretty forgettable even after a few listens.

It feels like such a compromise album to me, with the label not giving her the control she wants as she wants to be experimental but they want generic pop-rnb. Oh well, hopefully this'll do well enough RCA give her more leeway for the next one
