Managed to bag a couple of tickets to go and see the NME Awards show in Brixton Academy next February. No idea what it will be like, never been to anything like this before, or the Academy. Predictions on the winners/who will be performing? Liam Gallagher already confirmed for the Godlike Achievement award and performing a small set.

I've been about 4 or 5 times, its pretty good fun. They level out the floor for the tables so if you are down in the pit, you can't really see any of the guests tables apart from the ones at the very front. There is no barrier so you are just up against the stage and you are pretty close. Usually about 4-5 bands play alongside the Godlike genius, but they will only do one or two songs at most.

I've just gone for the seated tickets, wasn't sure if I wanted to stand in the pit for however long you're there for. I guess there's a different entrance for us "regulars" or a different door opening time? I bought tickets that said early bird, because they were cheaper than ordinary tickets.

Last time I went was a few years ago, but they make you queue round the box office side and let you in on the left so you go directly up the stairs. Then the middle section is for guest arrivals with photographers etc. People with pit tickets usually have to wait upstairs and then get led back down at a certain time with some security so they can't ambush the guests :P I think guests are generally arriving at the same time as you, as you can usually look down from the upstairs bar and see people.
