NOS Primavera Porto

Sorry for being so generally grumpy.

I think if they are going to ask customers to sit through teasers and waiting, the least they can do is handle the release properly. Plus not booking any unique bigger acts is a huge mistake.

It just reinforces the idea that Porto is a poorer version of Barcelona.

(well I suppose Jamie XX is the bigger act - sigh)

That is not a problem, you get to see lots of good acts in a much calmer and great festival site. Problem is Barcelona is pretty weak this year, and the leftovers are weak. Losing Bjork and getting Lorde is such a boring choice, and I think Lorde is a pretty good gig (I've seen her once). Not managing to get Thom Yorke too. But Lorde and hip-hop guys will manage to sell this out easily, so financially its good for them.

well, people will always complain.

the top headliners from barcelona were already confirmed in other festivals, and this year NPS has almost everything from the others.

this just shows how less exciting are this year's primaveras

for me I could only ask Spiritualized, Charlote gainsbourg or Jane Birkin and maybe Alex G, Oneohtrix Point Never and Jlin (but i think we have good things for eletronic)

and i think it is very diverse in terms of genres, porto always lacked some hip hop or something. this year lacks metal, but barcelona lacks too.

I think the last two years of NPS have been much weaker than the early editions. I agree the site is great.

Perhaps the problem is that we were so spoilt with the quality of the first editions.

2016 was pretty great to me. This year and last year, not so much.
