I was at that gig Grumpy. Just happened to be on holiday in Frejus that week. As far as i remember it was great, although my main memory was the hour or two we had to wait afterwards as our car had been triple parked.

Lucky man.  To remind you this is the final number - with Ferry complete with fag in hand and great whistling.

Taken by surprise by the size of my brain
Knowing all the time all the lies all the games
Thinking up a storm when it storms it's going to rain
Taking what's mine all the time, all the time
Take some for yourself
It's all good for something
And when there's no more to give
The window will shine in the light
On what's left for me
Knowin' your mind, knowin' your mind
That you've got to remember
You've got to remember, your name
Knowin' your mind, knowin' your mind
That you've got to remember
That you've got to remember, your name
Staggering around, can't find a place to sit down
Nothing suits my ass
Toast to some champagne of pain
I know you can bring us all a bottle
Remember the time when time was a friend
And you could make him lend you a hand
Now there's a place where taking takes place
And time just gets in your way
Take some for yourself
It's all good for something
And when there's no more to give
The window will shine in the light
On what's left for me
Knowin' your mind, knowin' your mind
That you've got to remember
That you've got to remember, your name
Knowin' your mind, knowin' your mind
That you've got to remember
You've got to remember, your name
Knowin' your mind, knowin' your mind
That you've got to remember
You've got to remember, your name
Knowin' your mind, knowin' your mind
That you've got to remember
You've got to remember, your name
Yeah, take some for yourself
It's all good for something
And when there's no more to give
The window will shine in the light
Take some for yourself
It's all good for something
And when there's no more to give
The window will shine in the light
On what's left for me
What's left for me

Really? Strange you never knew.

I'm curious if your post before editting was "Seriously WTF?" lol

I get wierded out how some bands just skip past or are just background and you never really investigate them, years later you listen and find out that not only do you really like them but you seem to know a lot of the words despite not recognising the name at all

Heheh nah I had just wrote the lyric before but didn't think the joke would shine thru. Now I know I didn't need to wrry. :P

I think pretty much all my favourite bands nowadays I knew about years before I properly investigated them and got fully into their stuff. And I certainly get what you're saying with Mazzy Star also; I'm too young to have known about them in the 90's but first time I listened to So Tonight That I Might See, I'd certainly heard Fade Into You and Into Dust from TV and/or film in some way so that mebbe it.

Random question, seems vaguely 'old music' related:

Does anyone know how I'd go about contacting Paul Simon or his management? I've looked at social media channels and his website and I can't seem to find any way of messaging/contacting them.

Long story short, I'm looking to get the lyric "I'd rather be a hammer than a nail" from El Condor Pasa tattooed in memory of my dad who passed a few years back. I'd originally wanted it in my dad's own handwriting but weirdly I don't seem to have anything with it, so does anyone reckon or know how I'd be able to get the man himself to write the lyric?
