I love opinions. The whole world is built around different opinions. Opinions eventually make changes. Things take time to change but they do change. Look at our history and then look to our futures. Racism has lessened, Homophobia has lessened (I'll admit they still have much room for improvement but you only have to look back in decades to see the momentum towards correct thinking in modern times). Toryphobia, Labourphobia, Liberalphobia and even Greenphobia (BNP is not a phobia, Just hatred) is what will get us there in a sort of reverse psychology way. Voice your beleifs without fear X

It's caled 'progressive politics' traditionally the domain of the left.

Torys are most welcome, but don't expect the rhetoric of the festival to change to suit your views, expect your views to be challenged by the festival.

Then stop pretending you're so sensitive that you can't handle the level of tory hostility at Glastonbury, it was mild at best. I don't honestly know how you get through life if you considered that so devistating.

Mate I'm reporting an observation, it does not imply some kind of sensitivity, like I say I was after sensible responses, further correspondence from you will be ignored unless its constructive

Your original post was emotive and opinonated, not observational. Mr Tease's response seemed appropriate. Perhaps you should restate your observations and the question you are asking if you are findling the responses are not helping you.

Apart from Corbyn which I deliberately missed, I didn't notice much political content anywhere apart from Leftfield where I spent some time. The festival is nothing like as political as it used to be which is a shame in my opinion.

Fair enough, but I hope you are doing your bit to advance the cause ;) you catch my drift anyhow.

Put it this way, plenty of us round here were wearing non-blue rosettes on Election Day. And I did admire the guts of the Labour candidate who doorstepped me despite the fact that I had a fucking massive 'vote LibDem' poster on my window... :)

My personal highlight was whilst walking past one smaller stage, can't remember which as was worse for wear. Some act came on and said we will begin our set with the national anthem and proceeded to sing "Fuck off you Tory c**ts! Fuck off you Tory c**ts! Fuck off you c**ts!" to the tune of God Save the Queen.

I live not far from Chipping Norton, in the Tory heartland of Britain. I can assure you that it had not decamped to Glastonbury. It wouldn't dream of it - far too common, dirty lavatories, no Pimm's tent etc. One goes to Cornbury with one's camping chair and sleeps in a yurt.

Wasnt every tent a Pimms tent this year. Jugs of Pimns were on sale all over the shop.

Conservative voters are, of course, welcome to glastonbury as they would be to any other festival.

With the history of the festival, I think it would struggle with a Conservative politician doing a talk in a similar way to what Corbyn did this year.

They probably could if they had anyone who wasnt reviled. Probably will be sone on the lower levels of the party but all the top piliticians from the Tories in recent years have been such vile pieces of shit, they would struggle not to get jeered just about anywhere.

Cameron, May, Osborn, Boris, Hunt, Gove, Smith, Leadsom etc are just all so hugely massive c**ts how could anyone from the middle to lower classes really like them. Liads of twats in Labour as well tbf but the Tories just seem to take it to another level.

Jacob Rees-Mogg would be a great booking! As a  Victorian throwback he should feel quite comfortable looking down on the (literally) 'great unwashed'.

He's the most sinister and horrible of all of them; smug pencil necked shite who thinks there's something whimsical and eccentric and cartoonish about being a horrible divisive shit stain who belong to a party that ruins lives on a massive scale for their own gain. I could very cheerfully strangle him.

I'm guessing you're not a fan :-)

Being serious for a moment I was sickened by some of the applause he was getting on QT last night, particularly regarding cutting the foreign aid budget.

Yeah, I liked it when he consistently voted against gay marriage and gay rights and measures to tackle climate change. Currently being changed into a 'character' by media and cretins who liked boris Johnson!

Apparently he is gaining quite a social media following. That worries me. I can only hope he gets called out for his odious views but more likely he will become a hero for the ukip voters who are now looking for a new hero.

what struck me was the amount of vile, abusive, threatening and downright aggressive anti Tory messaging I have ever seen at the festival

Didn't see anything remotely "vile, abusive, threatening or aggressive", you're a full of shidt troll or a pathetic over sensitive prat. No offense...

Not any of the places I went. Clearly 15 years living in sniffing distance of the Chipping Norton Set hasn't given me the skills I need to sniff out posh fruity alcohol...

If I can put up with seeing The Sun and Daily Mail left wing bashing all year round I'm sure you can put up with some pro left wing opinions for one long glorious weekend a year (which in my opinion is no where near as juvenile than the former).

Though admittedly I did not manage to procure a ticket this year so I cannot speak for 2017.

For 3 years I went with a mate who was UKIP ffs. He thought that if the 3rd reich held a festival then glastonbury would be it - all white, socialists. c**t.

So tories are welcome. Just prepared to meet a load of happy, openly generous people who like to share. Disturbing but, hey, it's better.

Sadly we were selling it at The Glade Bar - by the cup or jug. A jug was £32 including the deposit, but one guy opted to ditch the jug when he was told about the deposit. He asked for pint cups instead and proceeded to pour most of it over the bar.

We also sold frozen Margueritas and Prosecco. It was a proper pain. When people came to the bar and said '3 ciders please' I literally wanted to hug them.

My temper tantrum mode goes:

"Tories ruined Glastonbury for me last year - long before it started, seeing every sensible European knew how that referendum was going to swing by end of March - so happy for every Tory who had it ruined this year by Corbyn's appearance and consequent - slightly overdone - chanting"

Responsible adult mode:

Either last year or this year were like any other year. Left-leaning with a lot of liberal and right-wing inbetween.

Actually witnessed more open Tory bashing last year's Thursday then any day this year.

During those 5 days in June we all come together for the same reasons and no matter our own political views should cherish that unity. It certainly doesn't exist outside the festival anymore. The amount of broken down relationships in the real world just leaves me sad.

The ongoing debate about politics at Glastonbury does my tits in to be frank. It is a left-wing festival. We all know that. We all still go. Most of us welcome it, the rest ignores it mainly.

If you don't seek politics out, you can very happily spend 5 days oblivious of them.

(The latter represents actual observation; the former personal opinion)
