Glastonbury 2020

Isn't there already a thread for this?

Blur, Beyoncé, U2 seems realistic enough

Didn't U2 do a pretty mediocre show last time they played?

Friday Muse or Coldplay

Saturday Bon Jovi or Aerosmith (if either can be convinced to take the cut)

Sunday  Fleetwood Mac or The Beach Boys

Legend: Elton John or Bryan Adams

Would Beyonce do 2020? I could imagine her releasing a new album late next year since she seems to take 2-3 years between them and then maybe headline 2019? Far too early to predict but I'm pretty sure she's going to be back soon.

You're probably right mate, I don't know much about her, I'll swap her for Madonna maybe

EDIT - swapped Beyoncé for Madonna, too similar to '11 anyway

50th anniversary. Do we think they'll do anything special for it? Is there anyone who absolutely must be on the bill.

Apparently two of the headliners have already been booked for 2020, who are so massive they can be booked 3 years in advance without any concern about dwinding popularity? Oasis? Elton John? Fleetwood Mac? Queen + Adam Lambert? Bob Dylan? Neil Young? Usher? Arctic Monkeys? Arcade Fire? Madonna? Kylie Minogue? Bon Jovi? ABBA?

Coldplay and Muse.

Knowing the randomness of Glastonbury line ups I doubt any of them are correct anyway

So you reckon they haven't actually booked two headliners? Why would they lie about?

They never say what stage tho so don't always presume its The Pyramid.

Its going to be just like any usually Glastonbury line up. Yeah it is the 50th year but as has said already on here for most bands that means jack. They money to spend on bands will be the same so they can't be throwing millions around for a Led zep, Pink Flloyd and Fleetwood mac pyramid trio.

Agreed. They always try their best, so there's simply no headroom for an extra special festival.

This year was a vintage, but that was more to do with the weather and the politics than "twice as many bands" or any such Eavis hyperbole.

The politics wasn't just the Corbynmania, but on reflection it was also Manchester's reaction to the bombing, with the determination to "choose love" resonating with the natural Glastonbury spirit.

All stuff out of control of the organisers and unlikely to take note of nice numbered anniversaries.

It's still gonna be cracking though 2016 had the stars align in the opposite way and I still had a ball :D

I'd like to think they'll pull off one mega act for the anniversary, they can offset it by booking Coldplay. I'm willing to bet Martin would play for next to nothing on the 50th.

I know you were being facetious hence the "might actually". I'm well aware I'm alone in the cold in thinking they deserve to headline, but 100,000 people singing don't you worry child would be incredible. Could you imagine this at the pyramid

You are not alone.#SHM2020

Coldplay, almost certainly.

Could they give an anniversary headline slot to a new headliner? I know they get mixed reviews on here but if so The 1975 could be a decent outside bet. They seem to have had a pretty quick rise.
