Had wanted to go and at least have a look at this area,  however as usual ran out of time to do I everything I wanted. Had one of my best ever Glastonburys this year though. Has anyone got any opinions, story's or maybe photos from there so I can see what I missed.

Cheers

Matt

Very good location, really quiet and peaceful inside, the headphones are a 20 quid deposit which has to be remembered, i didn't see a cash point right by the cinema itself. Never got to sit in a vehicle though, I had booked to see Dead Man but cancelled so I could venture to the South East Corner instead as the rest of my camp also lost enthusiasm and wanted to do other things instead. They were a bit unorganised but it was only their first year so I can understand that.

I dropped in on Friday? morning. It was very cool to look at the cars and wander around. My favourite was the one that was sunk into the grass. I didn't book to see a film - I'd only heard of a handful to be honest.

I don't know if I could defend it reappearing in 2019, as there's already the Palais. I'm guessing they can't use the area for music due to noise restrictions?? Hence the use of headphones rather than traditional drive in speakers. That being said, it was perfect for a late morning stroll to admire the creativity and skill that was on display.

I'll try to add some pictures when I can.

I went up for a look around Sunday afternoon. Sat in a big cool American car 'Maybelline' for a bit. A worker there very politely said no one was really allowed to do that until the films start, booked of course. He was nice enough to take a photo of me in it though.

Later, around 2am Monday, I went back up there and followed a worker being let in a side entrance. So having snuck in I sat in an empty old Jag and luckily it still had the Bluetooth speaker attached, so I watched a couple of old Tex Avery cartoons but then two people turned up who had booked the Jag, so I politely left, walked around, found another empty Jag and sat there watching some Apocalypse Now when a lady popped in the back seat (it had no doors) and said mind if I sit here for a bit!? I said no of course and we ended up having a really good chat while sharing my cheese ritzes. So hi Sarah if you are reading :)

Was one of those perfect Glastonbury moments. And all because of Cinemageddon. I hope it returns.

We went up for The Libertine on Thursday evening, and actually it was quite cool. We had the car directly behind the one that was sunken in the grass - the Jag

You walked in, and were escorted to your car by an 'usherette', given a bluetooth speaker etc .... The cars were really cool, and pieces of art so lovely to look at. The idea is great, and as a one off it was fun for a couple of hours. Maybe it was better as Johnny Depp was there and chatted beforehand and was wandering around and was in the lear jet behind us - I can imagine it if rains it may get busier in the cars for people to keep dry

I probably wouldn't do it again, but as a one off it was good to see a new part of the festival

Half way through the film there was a knock on the window and an usherette asked if we wanted a drink delivered - made us all jump out of our skins lol

All in all - OK, interesting, great for a wander, but no idea how popular it will be and blimey it was a long way out :-)

Loved the work that had gone in to the old cars, they looked great.  Beer bus was a bit of a disappointment as I was hoping we were going to have a nice craft beer place nearby (we were camped in Baileys), but it turned out to be a bit of a misnomer as I think it only sold one variety of beer - a few cocktails though if I remember right

Popped in randomly late on Thursday night after seeing a sign for it on the walk back towards worthy view. Was around midnight, 2 min queue for headphones, £20 which was refunded when we left.

Caught the last 2 minutes of the previous film. Went and sat in one of the cars, looked like a go-kart kind of thing. Saw Johnny Depp warble on about Withnail & I being the greatest film ever (he was absolutely tw*tted), watched the first 5 mins of Withnail and then left because it was absolutely freezing.

Really cool place. But can’t imagine booking an appointement to watch a film with all the other stuff going on on site.

Went up for the Johnny Depp film. As said before we were ushered to our car ( no 6) a artificial grass covered merc, which we hoped for. it was cool to sit in but couldn't see all of the screen you had to sit forward. My partner wanted the toilet but had to walk out of the arena to find one and then had loads of trouble getting back in with the security. Had a laughing hysterical moment when a giant moth got in the car and i couldn't get rid, trapped it with my cup which still had gin in and then screamed when it escaped and the gin went everywhere, one of those silly moments.

saw Johnny then i needed to pee badly so i gave the car to a couple who were sat next to it looking frozen. we went and did something else.

The aircraft at the back was a Hawker 125-800 jet that belonged to the Royal Squadron that carried the royal family. I used to work on it. I cried when i  saw her sat in the corner.

This was the car wifey and I saw Dazed & Confused in Saturday night!

Brill idea, and a cracking 'coming of age' chaotic kind of film.  Took a few pints of Thatcher's Gold in with us, lovely.

Great area.

We went to go and have a look but weren't allowed in without a booking. Think that was Wednesday or Thursday night? Maybe Thursday. Were told we could come back for a wander in the morning but never made it. Be interested to hear/see what it was like!

Went up Saturday morning after Bootlegs on the Pyramid and before Craig David, was pretty cool.

I took a load of photos that I need to move from my phone.

the thing that stick on my mind most was the the MG Midget was in better condition than mine! and that the beetle still had it's engine in it - I could do with one to rebuild for my van.

I camped in South Park so was sat there one night watching a movie from our camp, I am not sure what movie it was but there was a woman ironing in her bra then doing a lap dance for a horse. it was all too much... but i couldn't stop watching.

anyway it was close so we used the bar and the food shop there during the day. Food was nice and beer was cold. and it looked really cool. for me if there was a better choice of Movies I may have gone.
