quickie about luggage tags

I'm not moaning ..well just a little. What has to go on the luggage tags?...I'm not being thick but when you go on holiday you are told not to put your home address on the way out only when you are on the way home 

 

I keep forgetting to get mine so will make some tomorrow, but I don't understand why they are needed

Wasn't it in case bags were left unattended? I thought the idea was to identify the owner, that been abandoned now?

yes but after going into the gate you are going to leave most of it in the tent ...
