InternationalOddity
Hello all, What's the general opinion on wellies for the weekend? Firstly, would you advise on bringing them, namely due to the weather? Secondly, if they are recommended, would you advise on wearing them or packing them? The ones which I have are very industrial, and as such are rather heavy (travelling by coach so the less weight the better), so may be better on the feet, Thanks in advance! mario man
Take them! I'm getting a taxi to the O2 and then a coach down to site, and I will be wearing my wellies the whole way. Far easier than packing them
Rumblestripe
you probably won't need them but I would (and will) bring them. I usually wear them to walk in and then leave them in the tent if I don't need them. They are awkward to carry I find, so put them on me feet to walk in and stick my trail shoes in my back pack. squirrelarmy
Bring them! Unless you're of the walking boot and gaiter persuasion. Better to have them and not need them than need them and not have them.
budvar
There are plenty on here that will say you should take wellies whatever the forecast - I got through 2004 and 2005 in just a pair of trainers so I can promise you'll be fine without. If it gets bad for some reason they are sold on site. Enjoy! PS I'm taking a pair of lightweight wellies.
Diva Sam
Wellies in the boot of my car and from it says on MetOffice, they are gonna stay there the whole time!
FloorFiller
Wearing mine there and then hopefully removed in tent and not had to be put back on at all for the rest of the weekend. Better to be safe than sorry even though the likelihood of needing them seems pretty slim at this point.
Hugh Jass
'Tis better to have them and not need them than the other way round.
Uncle Liam
Fail to prepare, prepare to fail. I liken it to F1 tyres Softs- Trainers Intermediates- waterproof hiking boots Wets- Wellies. For U.K. and Northern European festivals, I always take all three 'compounds' as it were. This weekend I could just leave the wellies in the car, but you never know what's going to happen. Bluebella
I never take wellies, just walking boots.

Glastonbury is like Spa, has it's own microclimate where anything can happen. If we are forced to wear wellies does this also mean we have to walk slowly behind someone wearing waders until it's clear enough for more intermediate footwear? Tommy101
I'm not bothering with them this year. I often get by with walking boots alone and am confident I will do this year too. At the most I will sling them in the boot but want to pack as light as possible.
Padgey
If you bought a new pair of Hunters you best wear them all week to get your moneys worth!
40 Days
Taking two pairs of trainers, will buy wellies on-site at hopefully, a hugely reduced rate on-site, if needs be. All of the forecasts I'm looking at suggest they won't be required.
verrymerry
My other half didn't take wellies in 2005. He's never going to let me do the same!

mjsell
Still havent decided on walking boots or shoes. Regatta boots or North Face shoes. Decisions decisions. No chance of wellies.
Callum_96
I'm not taking mine this year, packing my walking boots in my bag and going in trainers, just saying that brings a smile to my face. Gonna be lovely weather by most accounts

42hamlet
I plan to buy Wellies at the fest if I need them, which I won't. Praise be to the sun. Going to wear a pair of walking boots there but otherwise I've got a pair of converse in my bag that I'm banking on doing the job.
