The (dreaded) 2nd trip

Everyone that has to do it hates it I'm sure! So those of us that are planning a 2nd trip back to the car for extra supplies etc.. when do we think will be the best time to go out? 

Planning on joining the queue early enough to be able to get in in good time on the Wednesday even with the extra searches.  However even with the pass out queue system I think getting back In will be a bit of a pain this year.

Undecided as to whether to just go for it back out with the wheels once the tent is up, or have a nap and hang fire until the late afternoon or leave it until Thursday first thing but would ideally like to get the job done Wednesday.

Whats everyone else's thought/plans when it comes to the dreaded 2nd trip back to the car. & is getting back the the pass it queue easy enough? I only have experience of gate a and outnide of the zig zag barrier queuing system just before the gates, the queues outside always just seem a but of a free for all with people pushing in all over.

I do a second trip to the car.

Its a breeze. Especially zooming back in past the poor buggers still queuing or just arriving, laden down with all their kit.

I don't mind it (or the Gate C Hill of Death).

I definitely don't do my 2nd trip with a very twisted smug grin as a waltz past those struggling 1st trippers, with a beer in hand. Knowing the worst bit is over.

That would be cruel.

I normally head back around 3pm on the weds via gate A, queues have normally died down by then. This year however I can imagine the queue before the zigzag barriers being around for longer. I plan on asking new arrivals walking from the direction of gate A how bad the queue was for them before making a decision.

second trip, once tent is pitched and a couple of drinks guzzled.  As others have said with a smugness of knowing I'm pitched and don;t have that anxiety anymore.

Leave non essentials there and dish it off if you can't be arsed.

Always do it Thursday morning (by which I meant afternoon). Just need enough booze on the first trip for Wednesday then I empty my rucksack and take it out to fill with beer.

Usually thursday just take enough to get settled and not break my back!

Since I'm going in to put tents up first I'll have a few pints and wait til my mate gets there in the evening, then he can help me with the rest of the stuff. 

Thinking we may even leave it til after Sundown on the Weds.

Thursday afternoon is usually pretty quiet. Take everything you need for wednesday then go back and stock up for the weekend.

Always do my second trip on the Thursday morning pretty much as soon as I'm up again. It's usually just crates of booze so can't imagine those being searched will be a lengthy process

another vote for Thursday.

on Wednesday take tent, sleeping bag, airbed, change of clothes, toiletries, booze for the night.

Thursday morning, get up, get breakfast on the way to the car, take in the rest of the booze, food, clothes.

I'm taking 2 back packs this year one to take in on Wednesday then the second in what car to be picked up Thursday, just take a few essentials on Wednesday and most of my clothes and drink for the Thursdays

ive generally struggled to do it all in 1 trip in the past then felt crap for the rest of Wednesday, think i'll take the essentials this time and make a 2nd trip later on Wednesday afternoon this time round

Do people seriously not read what the official site are advising. There will be far more checks this year and they have told us already to expect longer queues. They have clearly stated to pack light this year and to only bring enough that you can carry. People going back for a 2nd load is clearly going to cause additional delays for people getting in.

I just wish people had more respect for Glastonbury and what they are advising people.

It won't though will it because you go in a different way so it's a different, dedicated re-entry, search team. Makes no difference at all to those who aren't in yet.

Bit OTT mate, People need to remember the reasons why things are slightly different this year. If people can't make a few adjustments to what they normally do for just one year then they hardly encompass the spirit of this wonderful and diverse festival.
