Grace_135
Hey, So wellies aren't that comfy and walking boots are hot. If the weather is meant to be good od you think you could get away with converse / trainers? Obivously I'd take wellies and boots too but just wondered if trainers would be a good shout or just extra weight?
balti-pie
Leave wellies in the car, alternate between trainers and walking boots I reckon - trainers are more comfy but they don't half honk after 20 hours on my feet
brandycoke
Would Gore-tex converse/trainers not be a solution ?
MilkyJoe
2010 I wore flip flops the entire festival.
p.pete
I brought only runners in 05 09 and 10 - mostly fine, having a backup would have been ideal. Especially in 05, welly queues were massive and they didn't restock my size til Saturday
ripcurl85
I would never not take a pair of wellies, even if I ended up just leaving them in the car. There have been a couple of years where I have got away with just Converse or walking boots though. I bought some gel insoles for my wellies last year on a recommendation from these boards, absolute game changer.
paulfoel
Bough my wellies for £5 from farm at side of road last year. 2nd hand. 3 sizes too big mind....
pie_and_a_pint
I won't be taking wellies. The walking boots will come in handy for my shifts but if it's hot I'll be wearing my Salomon walking trainers, which are much comfier. If it's REALLY hot and dry I'll wear my Birkenstocks but they don't offer much support and after the 'smashing time' I had a few years back I prefer something a bit more stable to support my ankle. Deaf Nobby Burton
I've got a pair of Nike blazers a size bigger that I've put some gel insoles in and I wear 1000 mile socks with them too. They are my go to festival footwear and are ridiculously comfy with the sock/insole combo. I wear them whenever possible over boots or wellies. unfortunately last year they didn't see the light of day.
TheNewUnion
I bought some decent insoles for my wellies, makes a world of difference. Actually comfortable now, definitely worth the money.
MartinK
I always take wellies, converse and flip flops and travel/wear my walking shoes. I fold my wellies over and stick them down with tape to save space
frostypaw
I would never not take wellies/walking boots. I'd only not take the wellies (onto site) if I was pretty damn sure about the weather, walking boots cover you for almost all the rest of it though unless it's gonna be relentless sun then trainers can have a place but there's always gonna be bits of yuk near standpipes/taps/longdrops etc It's not that hardcore an event, can use nice lightweight boots is fine. ghostdancer1
take boots and trainers. might not be any need to wear the boots, I only wore them for Friday evening in 2015, wore trainers every other day.
sime
Always take wellies/walking boots. I wear my wellies there, under my jeans, with converse in my rucksack. It is just not worth the risk to not take wet weather footwear and clothing. I would rather have and not need than the other way round. KryziF
I usually take both last year it was walking boots the whole time, but most years I swap between the two depending on the state of the ground.
