When Does Your Glasto Begin?

Once the tent is up. Apart from the odd band I have as a must see , I have no timetable, the only 5 days of the year where I don't have to be up at x o'clock , be there at y o'clock, pick up so and so at z o'clock. Incredibly liberating.

As the soup dragons sang....

Next Tuesday when I leave work at 1pm.  Go and get my Glasto nails done (yes, it is a thing!).  Then home to find daughter and partner have arrived from Ireland.  Will crack open the cider while cooking a roast chicken dinner (pre-glasto tradition since 2010 - no idea why) and glastobating furiously.  Days will be planned to an excruciating level; no detail will be too small to discuss.  Bed early(ish); too excited to sleep.  Drive down early Wednesday morning.  Plans all binned as soon as we walk through the gate.

I normally hate doing the same thing over and over again.  Glastonbury is the one time when I will do whatever required to keep everything exactly the same.

I'm sooooo excited!:yahoo:

This reminded me of a good friend of mine. One time on the way in on the shuttle bus from Bath and West, just at the point where we got the full view of the site, closed her eyes, took a breath and said she'd just left all her troubles behind for a week. Always stuck with me that.

Not been since 2015. Time to go home.

This is dead on. I remember getting the shuttle from the train station and my ex being asleep at the time. I was there staring out of the window waiting for those little glimpses of tents and stalls. Relaxed back into my seat, feeling great, and caught the eye of a stranger who had the exact same reaction, with her (I'm guessing) boyfriend also asleep. Great that.

Also not been since 2015.. it'll be great to be back with the year break. Getting shivers just thinking about it. Hope you have a great time back home.

Has to be the moment I plonk my bum down on the coach, surrounded by lots of other excited folk.

Vastly preferable to miserably plonking my bum down on my couch on Monday evening and hearing my mum ask me how Ed Sheeran was

On Friday when I hand my report in... With other key moments being seeing the festival from the bus and getting through security :)

Although I've spent so long thinking about Glastonbury today, it may as well have already started. Tomorrow Im going to have to leave my phone at home and go somewhere wifi free or nothing will get done :D

Friday 9am when we set off for Glastonbury town for our traditional weekend there before the festival. Can't wait to climb the Tor and spot the festival site in the distance. Missed last year's festival and it's felt like such a long wait!!

Our trip begins on Tuesday at 5pm, getting the train from Edinburgh which gets into Bristol for 11:30pm. Loiter around some bars/casinos before getting the 4am NE coach to the site.

Ive already hit the stage of not being able to sleep due to excitement. Thank god I finish up at work on Thursday as it's turning me into a bit of a zombie.

As with most people, 3 stages.

1) Finishing work this Friday and heading home to pack the car. Haven't been home to the UK in over 18 months so excited to see family and friends as well as Glasto!

2) The first beer of the trip on our stopover in Calgary. 5am in Vancouver seems a bit early.

3) Once my friend picks my girlfriend and I up from my parents at midnight on Tuesday and we head West. First time I haven't been the driver so will celebrate with one in the car!
