Newbies to Glastonbury this year and we are on campervan field east, please could you let me know what type of lighting we need to bring on the field and also out and about i.e torches, headtorch, lanterns etc. Also are the stand pipes for water plentiful. Thanks everyone.

I don't find lighting too much of a problem in general, and it'll be less so in a campervan as you don't have to worry about lighting for inside (unless you're actually bringing a tent as well). The main paths all have lighting, so a torch is only needed if you stray too far from these. I just have a tiny Cree Q5 for my tent, which despite its size is very bright (brighter than the similar 9 LED torch I had before). Cree do other sizes as well if you fancy something bigger.  I've never bothered with lanterns, and I can only see the point of head torches if you need both hands for something (like setting a tent up in the dark). If you feel the need for either go for it - it's not like you'll have to carry them from the car park!

The blue dots are water points. :)

Thankyou so much for your response its one less thing to stress about, I've got to the point were I'm overthinking everything now. The map is great for the water points as well, hopefully going down on the Weds so we get a decent pitch. Thanks again

The only time i found I needed a light was if I was using the portaloos in the campervan fields.  When I was last there - a couple of years ago now - that bit of the field wasn't as well lit and the lighting in the loos themselves was not great (?non-existent - can't quite remember).  If you have - and are happy to use and empty -  the loo in your campervan, even that won't be a problem.  I only used the portaloos having got caught a bit short on the walk back to E16 one night.
