5am coach from the O2

So as the title suggests, myself and 4 others will be getting the 05:00 coach from the O2, London.

we are likely to be getting there much earlier due to logistics, my question is, are there any bars that stay open until the early hours?

would much rather find a spot for a few celebratory drinks rather than standing around waiting.

Surely due to the time of the coach there are plenty of others in a similar boat?

otherwise we just have an impromptu party...

I don't think the O2 will be open before 5am nor the Pilot.  Take some snacks!

The Pilot definitely won't be open, I live in the area and go there a fair bit on my way home from work. Was thinking more if there were getting later earlier the night before.

If you want 24 hour opening (or very late at least) in a place you don't really know, nearby casinos can be a good shout. Saved me a few times when I've missed the last train home and a lot cheaper than accommodation

yep the casino route has saved me in London a few times!

Im only coming from Canterbury, however I think the latest our lift will drop us down is around 02:00.

hmm.

Lived not too far from this area last whilst at university and also did the coach trip from there around that time last year. Coincidentally we've swapped see coaches for national express this year and are leaving at 5am but from Victoria. You won't find much to do around the O2 at 5 in the morning my friend and you don't want to be lugging your bags around Greenwich or anything like that. There will almost definitely be people there though, in the exact same position as you. Just hang out and enjoy the buzz!

Looks like Brooklyn bowl is closed at the moment which is in the o2, and indigo2 hasn't got anything on that night. Only places that might have been open a bit later.

Sainsburys is a couple of minutes on the bus down the road, and open until midnight for any last minute supplies, last time I was in they had some camping gear.

Unless they opened another they've closed the Saindburys down (the one next to B&Q) it's going to be an Ikea!

There's one around the corner now, the other side of Asda. And I'd forgotten about Asda. It's open 24 hours.

If anyone does decide to go down there, it's a bit of a walk, or a bus ride.

Yeah that Asda and Sainsburys in an option, there's a McDonalds down there too but that area is definitely a good forty minute walk there and back.

One thought - assume most of you will be getting taxis to the 02. If you're in a group of 4 or 5 what kind of taxi are you going to order? Just thinking... group of friends + shitload of bags, tents, crates etc.

Don't suppose anyone has any ideas on the best option here? Called some minibus companies in London and they're quoting me £100+

Where are you getting your taxi from? Can you not just get a six or seven seater taxi and pile it all in the back with you and your gang? Uber XL is up to six passengers but I don't know whether you'll get one around your area at that time in the morning on a Weds. You'd want a back up plan.

Cheers mate. About 5 miles away in North East London. I think that's probably a solid option, yeah. Tried bringing a load of bits in an Uber before and they kicked off. Can't be doing with that at 4 in the morning...
