East camper van fields- no search coming in Wednesday.

Came through PGC twice a day weds/thurs- no search at all.

Friday morning- no search.

Exiting after radiohead, complete search, bag/pockets/clothing/phone/test cards for powered. Torch up nostrils and in eyes from the doctor* who declared "he's definitely had something but it ain't coke". Threaten with ticket being ripped up.

it didnt matter as I kept answering I didn't have anything. Weirdly I re entered after getting some alcohol and wasn't searched!

Saw some lads being taxed early in the morning when we exited again.

Shit man. I always assume that once I'm in jobs a good'un and I can roam pretty freely without being bothered as long as I'm not being a dick. What a bunch of jobsworths. That'd be me pretty fucked if anything similar happened.

Wtf?!!! Its got a bit silly hasn't it? Don't think I will be campervanning again. Don't need the worry of shit like that going on.

Not much they can do anyway providing you're not in possession.

I've found the security staff around Gate C when go back and forth to the campervan to be complete idiots, who find it OK to make Xenophobic, racist and sexist remarks. Really need to learn some respect to be honest, seen one with a Chelsea tattoo on his neck having a right go at a women for no reason, told him he was a wrong un and he did quieten down after

That's not on that.  (The torch in eyes/ nostrils) Next time take their badge number and report them.

Probably a bored knob who was trying to get a sneaky stash for when he clocks off.

Arrived gate A Thursday lunch. Just a squeeze of my bag and a cursory look inside. No police, no dogs. Asked if I had any glass or prohibited items - so almost the same as any other year. Virtually no security on way out today.

AFAIK the law is specific on possession - if you have consumed it you are not in possession so no offence has occurred  (unless you attempt to drive under the influence) so you would be within your rights to take their details and report them to management for harassment. Small dick syndrome by the sounds of it.

There were three lads with Liverpudlian accents yesterday in the acoustic tent with no wristbands on at all. Was wondering how they got in.

I came across them in the bar at Williams Green on Wednesday lunch...hmmm

Queued from 5.30am on Weds till 9 and barely moved at C

9.15, sprinted down the hill and through wristband without being checked, security even stamped our arms to say we had been because he said we'd waited long enough already.

My friend had a joint ripped out his hand by a steward who was really agressive and shouted "I can get you removed from site if I want, so think yourself lucky". Bit OTT if you ask me.

I've had a steward give me a warning for lighting up a joint but he was pretty damn reasonable about it - this guy sounds like a bad dickhead.

So for all the worries expressed on here prior to the festival it didn't feel any different to any other year. Other than an increase of wrist band checks i didn't experience any bother at all. Didn't see a police officer until Sunday evening where there were about 20 at Lovebullets. Looked like they had shut the place down. Someone said they had caught a group of people that were using fake money. Anyone know what that was all about?

I was expecting massive queues when I arrived on Wednesday mid-afternoon but we got in pretty quickly, and didn't get searched whatsoever. They just told us if we haven't been asked to be searched to just continue through. We didn't have anything on us anyway so it didn't really matter but I still found it pretty strange. We went through gate A for what it's worth.

Friends brother and his mates where camped literally the other side of the path to us in bushy.

Security turn up 5 minutes after they get back from getting breakfast and start to mention how they've had a reliable tip off that they're carrying a large amount of counterfeit money and that the police are on their way to search them.

5 minutes later 2 jeeps turn up and all of a sudden there's about 7 police and 4 security here to search these 4 young lads. They go through every inch of their tents, make them take their socks off and search them and search all pockets. Prettt much the only place they didn't check was their underwear.

Obviously they didn't find any counterfeit money as they didn't have any but they found a very small amount of powder which one of the jobsworths insisted was enough to get them thrown out.

So they get escorted over to the main security office to speak to the head of security and he lets them go saying the security are being stupid wanting to kick them out for having such a tiny amount and then went on to say how he's seen nothing but scousers all day and the security are clearly discriminating against them.

Bit silly really, like apparently they were stalked back to the tents by these security guards for 30 minutes. Where this 'tip' come from we don't know but it's ridiculous

What possible reason would security have for confiscating a can of deodorant?  Surely there must be more to it than that.  A spray of deodorant in the tent after a wash is about as fresh as I get to feel for 5 days.

One of our group has theirs confiscated... apparently you could easily make a flame thrower out of It!! ! Ridiculous tbh

Personally I went through gates 3 times and didn't have anything checked once, neither did the fella.

I thought the Alton towers queues were unnecessary to maybe check the odd bag, I was in the queue at D for nearly 6 hours on Wed and that was arriving in pink around 6.30am.... got heat stroke and screwed me up all of weds and most of Thursday too :(

Ridiculous, and infuriating to hear, not just as a fellow scouser but because it's a load of bullshit regardless. If they'd had done that to me I don't think my amounts would've got let off so kindly :unsure:

It seems the uber security operation was a huge public stunt, or it seems that way!

I've been through into East Camper for the past six Glastonbury's and have never known the security to be so poor. Usually there is a check point just inside the gate as you come in, hit and miss van search and confiscation of bottles ect. This year no check point atall, just Campsite Wardens showing you to a very poor laid out E19. So much space taken up and the rows were ridiculous.

Did not see hardly any security doing spot checks either.

Agreed the checks on gate C at points were thorough.
