Time to kill in the queues, lets hope. Will change when there are reams and reams of people coming through. Security searches are obviously for the benefit of all, but logistics will inevitably require it to be quicker. The festival will not want a repeat of the chaos last year because of the mud/queues on the roads.

The local BBC Points West News has just reported live from the festival and their footage showed the searches taking place and a Swiss Army knife being found.

Searches are done for a reason,not for fun.People were warned about them,pack light. Don't want another,Manchester. Just accept it, it's going to be a regular thing at all festivals, etc. Better to be safe than sorry.

Better safe than sorry, yep; an lot of awful, awful shit has happened in the last few months, but we shouldn't just accept greater observance as a way forward, it's a slippery slope.  Balance is really needed, offsetting the justified need to keep the public safe to freedom to carry on our business without interruption as much as poss and I really hope these early examples of keen searching and confiscation are just over zealousness.

What possible reason would security have for confiscating a can of deodorant?  Surely there must be more to it than that.  A spray of deodorant in the tent after a wash is about as fresh as I get to feel for 5 days.
