Trains to Castle Cary on Friday Evening & Shuttle Bus

Hello everyone,

I'm getting the train from London to Castle Cary on the Friday which leaves at 4.36pm and gets into Castle Cary at 6.21pm due to work being tools and not letting me leave any earlier.

Just wondering if anyone has been on a train from London around that time in previous years so I know if it'll be rammed with all the other people leaving work and heading over and also what the wait is like for the shuttle bus from the station to the site at about 6.30pm-ish on the Friday? Unsure if there will be loads of people in my position or if most people will already be on site by then.

Thanks in advance!

Excellent thanks.

Would pull a sicky, but I already asked my boss if I could have the Friday off and they said no so would be suspect now if I didn't appear... shouldn't have been so honest!!! I'm a teacher so getting time off for festivals is pretty much a no go...

Thanks again :)

If it's just a standard train out of London Paddington, I wouldn't rely on it being quiet at that time (tbh it rarely is).  Pretty much all trains out of London heading West will be busy with commuters.   The good news is the shuttle bus will be straightforward.

Perfect, yeah I thought the train might still be a bit busy given that it's a Friday evening, but just didn't want carnage with all of the normal commuters PLUS all the poor people being made to miss Wed, Thurs and Fri due to work ramming themselves onto this train.

Glad the shuttle bus sounds like it will be easy.

If you don't have a seat reservation head for coach F, that one's the unreserved one!
