slash's hat
As a few members on the younger side have said no idea who klf are, I thought it would be interesting to find out what your first single, album bought etc was and your age ( if you want to share). First album: I'd like to say something cool and avant guard, but I've got a feeling it was Queen's Greatest Hits. First tape: My own personal mixtape taken from the top 40. First CD: Got my own CD player one Christmas when I was 13/14, think Blur's Parklife was one of the CD's I was given with it. First download: Pass First 'now' album: Never bought one, I did have the popular 90's "Shine" indie compilations though. First gig: Ocean Colour Scene at Aston Villa Leisure Centre, November 1995, age 14. First glastonbury: 2004 Age:
chatty
First single I bought was The Bluetones - Slight return in 1996. So I would have been 12/13 depending on the month it was released. Well that was the first proper single I bought. I remember having Snow - Informer which I think came out before Slight return andHaddaway - What Is Love, not sure when that was released. I also had a couple of Gladiators soundtracks which would have been my first albums but they were pretty good - Rainbow, Turner and Overdrive, Ugly Kid Joe, Europe, Meatloaf, Survivor, The Troggs and Edwin Starr among others on it if I remember correctly. First CD - I got East 17 - West End Girls with the Cd Player and I bought Blur - The Great Escape and Oasis - Whats The Story as my first CDs. First Download I think was The Beatles collection. First gig was Stereophonics about 99, I had seen Another Level as they played at my school though and you got out of an after of class if you went to it. I wish Id went to class. CaledonianGonzo
Heh.....Now 10 getting a strong showing. That was mine as well, and - a few duffers aside - it's still a cracker. I picked up a pristine second hand copy a few years back and it still gets a semi-frequent spin. Not many chart hit compilations take you from Nina Simone to Hey Matthew by Karel Fialka.
