Just got this come up on my phone when I clicked on a thread

Thanks for letting me know.

FYI: i don't believe it's anything destructive, just a 'hijacking' advert. There's been a few instances of similar today, and they're sneaky buggers to find and stop, but people are already on the case.

I'll feed the info about this upwards, to add to the others.

For some of the instances reported here - the 'urgent Chrome update' one - it appears that the problem might actually be 'adware' that's installed on the user's device, and not triggered by the ads here.

There's a page detailing it - including how to remove the adware - here:-
https://malwaretips.com/blogs/remove-fake-urgent-chrome-update-virus/

That could well be the cause, for some or all of the reports here.

However, i'm slightly dubious that it is, just because it seems odd for a few people to suddenly report it at the same time. It'll continue to be investigated.

Just further to the above, if the 'urgent Chrome update' problem was caused by an ad, the only possible source for it has been identified and removed from the ad system - so fingers crossed that's that one sorted.

With no further reports of the porn problem, it looks like that one was nailed earlier today when another advertiser was paused from serving ads.

The sainsburys and 'access denied' problems are still being investigated, tho it's likely they're from the same source 'urgent Chrome update' problem, no longer serving ads so hopefully no longer causing problems.

Thanks to those who brought the problems to my attention, and apologies to anyone affected by these.

Please always bring them to my attention and provide as much info as you can (device & OS, wifi or phone network, the URL you're taken to) as I don't want them any more than any of you do.

You sure you were looking at your phone screen, and not in the mirror?

I think the more important question is how did JoBalls get hold of your phone Scruff?

This has escalated quickly!
