Campervan arrival

I am likely to be turning up at about 12 noon on Tuesday at West camper van field. A mate who will be staying in it with me won't get there till about 7pm on Tuesday. How does he get in? Will they allow him into CV field? And if so, does he need to buy a permit?

No, as long as he has a ticket he will get in fine. Give him a copy of the caravan ticket aswell just incase.

Do bear in mind that the west Campervan site has an entrance from the road with the pop up hotel (vehicle entrance) and a pedestrian entrance which opens onto the festival. The pedestrian entrance only opens at 8am on Wednesday.

not sure whether they'll have a problem walking in through the vehicle entrance but they won't be able to drive in unless they have another cv ticket and camper/caravan.

doing a bit of reading your mate won't get in at 7pm if arriving by car, he will have to wait for the car parks to open, park, queue with everyone else to get into the main site on Wednesday morning then exit into the west cv site. Major faff!

Whether in reality that is the situation I don't know, he could get in the car park when it opens, walk to the cv vehicle entrance, you meet him there on foot and charm the security into allowing him in on foot through a vehicle entrance.

shame you aren't in east as he could just walk in from the car parks.

There is a private carpark within walking distance of the West campervan fields. I stayed there a few years ago when my brother had a caravan. He was able to drive out, collect me and our stuff, then drive back in. Can't remember the name of the site but google should help.

Ashcombe park. You don't have to queue to get out either as it's on the A361.  Ashcombepark.com
