Just reading back over the thread and seeing expressions such as URL HTTP ping and DNS I just wish IT had been around back in my day then at least I might have half an idea what everyone was going on about !

There was loads of alerts at around half 4, used all my 40 credits? Ah surely not a ticket sale at that time?

it was things to do with See's system (backups, I'm guessing, given the time), that caused the normal page to not get served (sometimes it was, sometimes it wasn't - which is why there were lots of alerts, for each time it swapped between normal page and error msg).

I've just added some error trapping to stop alerts in future when the those same messages appear.

Unfortunately See have a habit of changing the error messages slightly now and then, so the error trapping I already had in place for other similar error messages wasn't any good for last night. I can only trap error messages after that error message has appeared.

From memory there hasn't been a secret resale before the May refund date has there?

yeah, there have been - tho not for a few years now, as far as I can remember.

If I had to take a guess i'd say a sale is unlikely until after the refund date, but that's a risk because if there is a sale before then you'd miss out on that chance.

Very true.  I've never had to rely on them myself so wasn't sure.

I know bugger all about the subject of resales but surely they can't have another sale until they know how many tickets have gone unpaid for? Or is that too obvious and they might slide a cheeky sale before the 5th in for sh1ts and giggles???

they're likely to know they have some tickets available before the final refund date, so there's no particular reason why they couldn't be sold before that refund date.

I think it's probably likely that they'll keep them all for just one sale after the refund date, but that's merely a presumption - and if you make a bad presumption, you miss out on an opportunity for tickets.
