Flaminglippy
27 minutes ago, RossTC said: happy days!! Yeah, should be a corker. The noises from the organisers sound positive. Read an interview where they said they know from organising gigs for OCS and Twang before that their fans like to drink so they are making sure there are enough bar staff on. Hopefully they'll realise what goes in must come out so there will be an corresponding increase in number of loos. Just seen Jesus and Mary Chain have dropped out of Victorious Festival...hope they don't do same for this. Loved their last album
Flaminglippy
Surprised this hasn't sold out...really hoping the fact it hasn't doesn't lead to cost cutting and we end up with another 'Hope and Glory'...given the organisers experience though quietly optimistic. Just make sure there are enough bar staff (no 70-80 minute queues like Victorious!) and bogs and people will be happy...

If the staff are on minimum wage each member of staff would only have to sell 2 pints @ £5 each an hour and they have paid for themselves (obviously not taking into account cost of the beer, expenses etc). I think a lot of the bar staff do it for free/cheap tickets so it costs them even less. In reality at a busy bar they would probably do a minimum of 20 times that an hour. We gave up trying to get a drink on the Friday at Victorious and probably spent a minimum of £50 less than we would have done.
johnl
Few cheapies flying around for the Sunday ( my best day but there you go) Editors social media platforms had some £25 tickets if anyone's thinking of making a late decision. Seen nothing for Fri and Sat so they must be selling stronger
tillyandthewall
Beer queues should be OK, the organisers have said they know OCS fans like to drink. Never had to wait more than a few minutes at Moseley Jazz or Lunar - Purity do the bars there.

The_Amazing_Oblong
Moseley is ran really well so expecting this to be also. Great lineup for me and just down the road. Unfortunately I fly out to Spain this weekend. Bummer (sort of). Will be keeping an eye out for after reports and will schedule it in next year for sure. xxialac
Wow, it's worked out perfectly. Get there just in time for pixx, no clashes as alternating stages and two long sets from Leftfield and Orbital. Assuming it runs to time and for a new festival there may be major problems. It doesn't look from setlist.fm like Leftfield play any non-Leftism tracks which is a bit disappointing. Anyone confirm this is the case? xxialac
It's a long album at 69 minutes but they've technically been allocated 105 minutes. I assume then they will come on late, finish early and extend some of the tracks, rather than play Phat Planet etc.
The_Amazing_Oblong
Can't remember where I saw it but it has been advertised for a while that they are playing Leftism in full at the festival.
xxialac
I know they are playing Leftism in full but often on these 'album runthrough' shows they also play some hits afterwards. Underworld were playing Born Slippy after playing the whole of their first album for example. Looks like they won't do that here.
