Well I reckon that's good news. Why sign a 17 year deal (17 years? What an odd period to chose) if you're moving the festival out elsewhere.  Glasto is here to stay for a while longer anyway.

that's three six year blocks, without the contract covering the final fallow year.

You think it's odd, I think it works in just about the same way as Glastonbury have always worked their long-term contracts.

Emily has mentioned a plan to do 2019 and 2020 (50th anniversary), followed by another fallow year during which the Variety Bazaar would take place. If the 17 years mentioned do not include the fallow years, it could represent those 2 years and 3 sets of five years.
