Can't believe I'm saying this but am considering not taking wellies tomorrow after all. I have no walking boots, but I have waterproof walking shoes. Will I be safe? Any mud is not gonna get above ankle height now, surely??

If I was to say no chance of wellies, don't hold me responsible if I'm wrong. But yeah no chance of wellies

Walking boots all the way.

Take a lump hammer / mallet instead. Was vital this morning.

All signs point to a no welly weekend.

But Sat and Sun are still 2-3 days away, and things change quickly.

I would always take wellies regardless of forecast, but you've got a good chance of getting away with it.

As someone who struggles in anything above 20 degrees it was far too warm for me today, especially on the train to Castle Cary which was like being stuck in a conservatory on a hot day. The shade up at the John Peel tent is great though, really cools you down. Hoping for some clouds tomorrow to calm things down but I've already changed my mind on preferring a 2016 style festival to 2010.

Feel like a heathen for saying it but the weather this morning is a blessed relief after yesterday. Overcast and cool in the tent. Can't believe I'm not burnt - can only think it's because of the layer of sweat acting as some kind of barrier! I did reapply a lot of factor 30 but it just slid off. Our coach wasn't air conditioned so it was a sweaty old day. Survived though!

Carol's 815am update (she was live from Ascot - hat almost blew off).

Thurs: dry all day, getting sunnier in the evening (when I arrive).

Fri: dry all day

Sat: showers

temps will drop gradually day by day and she didn't get to Sunday...
