Port-a-loo Pete
The KC website states "*Artists marked with an asterisk are playing the Thursday night for Thursday night ticket holders only" but there aren't any asterisks next to anybody's name !! I know FF are playing Thursday but who else ?? Edited February 13, 2017 by Port-a-loo Pete
ramragon
Up till now I've spotted frightened rabbit and franz Ferdinand playing thursday. If it's anything like previous years there will be 4 or 5 bands on starting at around 4 or 5pm. Sure there will be another few names released but they will be smaller bands. Franz will headline and frightened rabbit will be main support
Port-a-loo Pete
I had to buy a Thursday ticket as I couldn't be missing Franz, seen them a few times before and always put on a great show ! Does the music stop at around midnight on the Thursday or is the Glo tent still on till the early hours ??
ramragon
The main stage will finish about 10.45pm, there's not normally many stages open on the thursday. Just looked at last year's lanyard and the main stage opened 5pm till 10.50pm with 6 bands featured. Chai wallahs was open from 5pm till 2am with 5 bands playing Thats the only stages that were open. You're paying £30 to see a night of music and the chance to get in and set up at a more relaxed pace and do some socialising
Port-a-loo Pete
So plenty of time for a nightcap and maybe a pizza in Chai Wellaye before turning in then, sounds good to me.
Lowther Calling
Looks asterisk'd to me!

Few drams, bite to eat, Efest meet and then they had Craig Charles on in a packed out tent :-) Changed holidays plans this year as no Wickerman double so won't be down till Friday. Pissed off im missing FF. Saw them a couple of years back and they were on top form.

You didn't mind paying the 30 sheets for James lol ! Its all got a bit silly really ! As many have said with emperor, Thursday weekend ticket and the dreaded booking fees ! It's more expensive than Glastonbury! And the bastards still book the hotpots

You know my thoughts, no added charge for the Thursday. Stick a couple of local bands and a dj on. Encourage folk to come in early to ease the traffic problems. Before I start ranting in the smuggling thread lol remind me...was it a fiver for a 300 mil bottle of fruit cider last year or am I getting my fests mixed up ? James single handedly brought Mrs Comfy back after the monsoon year and her swearing never to return to Manchester. That year they were money well spent, as always :-)

Seem to remember drinking pints of strongbow dark and normal strongbow for £4.50 at the bar last year. Didn't seem too bad, although I didn't drink loads in the arena

Maybe I had a nightmare about paying the same for a 300ml Kopperburg or it might have been the year before. Strongbow with the tree bar was a new thing last year wasn't it ? The tree bar and the jagaer hut are both good additions. Obviously I'm now more of a cuppa and cake man in the diner these days :-)
ramragon
whos making the effort to go on Thursday this year then ? looking at the poll in the other thread there doesn't seem to be that many people that excited by Franz Ferdinand
Pooly JP
We are going Thursday again never seen FF, quite like Frightened Rabbit and sure there'll be a few other bands worth watching while having a pint or two. Had absolutely no interest in watching the Charlatans last year but them headlining didnt stop us going the Thursday. Seem to remember Chai Wallahs had stuff on the Thursday last year and spending time in there instead. If nothing else i like being able to get there and get set up. Also enjoy the relaxed feel on the Thursday before festival goes into full flow
Drfoxxx
I'll be there on the Thursday, not too fussed on FF but will watch them! Extra day at the festival, who can turn their nose up to that!?
timeforheroes
Seen Franz 8 or 9 times always brilliant. Reckon they can win a few sceptics. Anyone else reckon putting two Scottish bands on the Thursday a cynical ploy to exploit Wickerman being off?
Mr_Grump
I'm there Thursday, primarily to get a good camping spot (hate turning up on the morning and rushing round like a loon). Not at all fussed about FF (last time I saw them I almost fell asleep!) but defo want to see Frightened Rabbit. Hopefully something decent on in Chai Wallahs. Errrrr no doubt they that clever . more likely that they wanted franz but only night available was Thursday because they also booked at another in Europe that weekend I would of thought frank turder would of been the real Thursday header by previous trends. as for frightened rabbit I recon it's just a case of they could offer them 2 shows Kendal and electric fields. Curlygirl
I'm definitely there Thursday. I like FF and Frightened Rabbit. And as drfoxxx says, extra day at the festival. Win win.
thurlow84
I'm playing Thursday this year though I am not an artist, I tend to play at getting drunk and I do it to varying degrees of sucess
sharkey2007
I love the Thursday entry. Granted we stay in the Bell tents now but being able to trundle up the motorway on a Thursday morning, get on site, and settle in through the day, meet the neighbours, have a few beers round the tent and then wander down to a not overly packed arena is the perfect start to a weekend imo. Who is on is almost secondary although James was a tremendous bonus two years back.

bottonrob
We're there Thursday, same same every year for us, land around lunch, sort out the tents pretty near to the emperor's arena entrance followed by a curry, couple beers and waltz into the arena. Wake up on Friday chilled & happy!
richall
We are there Thursday set off at 6 from Yorkshire, breakfast in Penrith morrisons at 8 stock up on the ice whilst there, drive to lowther hopefully all pitched and set up for 1 then a few sociable drinks I'm not feeling the Franz love but will probably give them a chance the James year I came away a bit frustrated but I only really know there hits and there were some glaring omissions on there set I was more impressed with black rivers that year, last year I wasn't expecting much from charlatans but they blew me away one of the weekend highlights I'm getting all excited and it's still nearly 5 months away
