Hmm, will they announce anything else other than the headliners at this point? Was kinda expecting GnR to come with a couple of the larger undercard names but no such luck it seems....

I can't remember what the deal's been in previous years, but with GnR in tow I don't think they need to announce anything more just yet - their booking alone will insure a steady sale of weekend tickets.

Previous years iirc they've just had 1 announcment where they've announced all the headliners and some of the undercard in one go

Ok Noobie on here.

The wife and I  fancy doing Download this year - after going to Slane to watch GnR last year.  Must admit to being a bit more of a 'stuck in the 80s' mainstream rock fan (not really into thrash - though like Metallica)  and don't know much about 90% of the bands around these days.   Can anyone tell me what the craic is after the headliners have finished?  Are there any other bands playing later on different stages etc - bars open till when etc?

Appreciate any heads up.

Cheers

If you have a day ticket there is nothing after the headliners. If you have a camping ticket the village goes on till late. Beer tents, fair rides etc . I just usually go back to van and party.

So if you get the weekend ticket (no camping) there's nothing on...but if you get the camping one there is? so it's best to shell out the extra £20 or so -even if you're not camping?

Turbonegro are listed for one of the Euro Downloads. I would say there is a strong possibility of them turning up at Donington. I've never seen or listened to them. Are they good? They used to be on line ups but disappeared for a few years. Did they have a break?

They changed the singer. "What is rock" is a great tune. They are punk who really don't take themselves seriously. Check out their outfits during their performance ....

Remember seeing them at Leeds fest in 05. Not my thing. They had a song called blow me like the wind I seem to remember

Well turns out my mates want to go Download this year. No idea why as they're not fans of the headliners but they are waiting to see who is playing first before getting tickets. But if they go I'll probably go so I would love to see a few of Converge, Sorority Noise/Old Gray, Frontierer, The Wonder Years, The Menzingers, Title Fight, Birds in Row, Turnstile, Loma Prieta, Ceremony and At The Drive-In

Good luck with that. I don't think the bookers have even heard of half of those bands

ATDI were absolute horse manure at RnL this year, so please god no. TWY and the Menzingers would be ace.
