SOAD

To my mind, there are a lot of reasons to expect to them at Glastonbury.

They are headlining Download, but are not a 'British exclusive', as Aerosmith have been labelled. No Sonisphere this year, and they haven't been rumoured to play any other festival, Reading and Leeds falls a bit outside of their tour schedule.

They are free on the Saturday, and would be a good fit headlining the Other Stage up against Eddy on the main stage.

It would mean a pretty gruelling 4 day festival binge though, Denmark, Spain, Glastonbury and then back to Europe for Firenze Rocks in Italy.

I can't see why they are not an exclusive for Download, if they aren't playing Glastonbury. Haven't got any of their own shows lined up in the UK.

Thats exactly why it won't happen. The logistics are not a good match..

It's certainly the dream. I just think their schedule makes it difficult. Plus, I just don't see the bookers making the effort to bring them in. Hopefully I'm wrong though  because they (or NIN) would be the ideal act to put up against Sheeran.

I doubt SOAD care about Glasto nowhere near enough, let alone the fee they would get for all that moving about unfortunately. I'm hoping 2nd stage Friday Download is something to catch the eye so it might be worth going as if they announce a gig after it's going to be one bloody London show again.

The Green Day support acts haven't been announced so SOAD could be on that bill somewhere, that may well be a heavier day.

 

I think Catfish would sub them, like doing in the USA tour so that would go against the whole rock vibe

Imagine SOAD plus Rancid supporting. That would be great but it wouldn't be ideal for Download to agree to that, it'd been said they only just kept Download headline status by agreeing to sub them at Reading as it is.
