Few thoughts;

After what feels like a slow start to the year album wise ('I See You' and 'Prisoner' are the only two so far that have been getting regular repeated listens) things seemed to step up a gear over the last week. I'm loving the new Real Estate, Spoon and Laura Marling records. I'll be delving into the back catalogue of all three now based on this year's efforts. 

Track wise;

Despite my enjoying telling people how much I disliked their 2015 Pyramid set and slagging them off in general, I REALLY like the new Alt-J track. It's been a massive grower. Similarly I'm listening to A Fire That Burns quite a bit and liking it more and more. It's not a patch on the first album but it ticks enough of those mid-2000s indie landfill boxes for it to appeal to me. 

New Fleet Foxes track is a stormer, 2nd only to Only God Knows in terms of tracks of the year so far. 

The Kasabian effort is history's greatest mistake.

can you lovely people recommend me some youtube vids of a hot new act, where the tune is something everyone should get to hear, and where they're already announced* for a UK festival this year

(* strong rumoured+ for Glasto, too).

thanks, excellent choice cos it's a new vid today and because they're new as a Glasto rumour. :)

I've set it up for tomorrow.

But in general terms that's a bigger act than I was really wanting, as I'd like to help give some lesser known acts a greater profile than they might otherwise have. I don't think RTJ are struggling for publicity.

Ah cool. Maybe british sea power? They have a new album out next week and a few new tracks, and are probably playing.

Loyle Carner has been announced for a fair fees festivals including bestival today. Declan McKenna would be a good one as well?
