My person preference would be Illinois, but Carrie & Lowell is just as good, albeit largely different in style.

Seems like he's definitely sticking with the Planetarium vibe on this album then. I'm down for it.

thrillhouse188
Finally properly caught up with the new tracks, Age of Adz is probably my favourite Sufjan album so loving these. Hype for the The Ascension is now through the roof, shame My Rajneesh won't be on there, it totally slaps

FloorFiller
‘Nother new’un. Very good, although the one on streaming services has a longer intro which is awesome, so check that out.

FloorFiller
It’s good. It’s very good. Feels like a more stripped back continuation of Planetarium to me, which I love, but can imagine those turned on to him by Carrie & Lowell might not dig it so much. Hard to say if it’s up there with his classics, and there’s a lot to unpack, but there are definitely some gorgeous highs in there.

If the setlists lean on Adz a lot more than the C&L tour then it would be so, so perfect. Get the fluorescent paint and wings and lycra out, Suf! ace56blaa
Yes this feels like a mix between the planeterium stuff and age of adz, sometimes this album is absoloutely boinkers, sometimes it's the popiest sufjan has sounded (always a unique popiness) Some stuff especially lamentations, die happy and death star reminded me alot of his year of the rabbit album. Though not my favourite sufjan as of yet (that goes to tied between age of adz and illinois) it definitely feels like a culmination of alot of Sufjan's previous sounds.
