Orens
Guess it's time to open a new one. Prima 16 was astounding, so me and my friends purchased the Early Bird VIP tickets the minute they became available. Any predictions on 2017's lineup? A couple of names popped up in rumors (and people's wishlists?) already: Gorillaz (new album some time in 2017?) Bon Iver (looks extremely likely, Barcelona is off his Winter 2017 EU/UK tour) Beck (new album, October 21st) Portishead The Smashing Pumpkins (actual reunion? Billy Corgan & Co.?) Depeche Mode Frank Ocean James Blake (it's been two years already!) The Shins (new album in January) Sufjan Stevens Arcade Fire, Queens Of The Stone Age, The National (probably unlikely considering all of those had a major spot in 2014) Ty Segall (he has to repeat after last year) Grandaddy Super Furry Animals Anderson .Paak (amazing live performer) Daft Punk (LOL) There probably won't be any announcements before January's big one, so it looks like we have about four months to speculate. Yeah Bon Iver is a cert for one of the headline positions. And if rumours are true then I think they'd nab Pumpkins and Daft Punk also. Could see it going a bit like: Beck > Smashing Pumpkins > James Blake Jesus & Mary Chain > A$AP Rocky > Daft Punk The Flaming Lips > Bon Iver > The xx Top line headliners in bold. I feel like Beni will get Gorillaz and maybe a couple more from that list and also Governors Ball will surely take a couple like maybe Frank Ocean. It'll be pretty hard for them to put out a line up that will rival this year but I guess any with Daft Punk should go down well.

Chinaski_
I'd like any of Pumpkins, Depeche Mode, Beck, Neil Young for headlining. Undercard: The Feelies (although I don't think they've ever played outside the US since reforming) Jawbreaker (if reunion rumours are true) New Order Les Savy Fav Thurston Moore Ooops.. Forgot to add Archers of Loaf too if they're still going and being greedy, they all play Porto too please. Dreamofmerle
I second Cate let Bon, Chromatics, Andy Stott, John Talabot, Vatican Shadow, M.I.A , the xx... And would LOVE to see Planningtorock get a major slot. They've put on some amazing shows and made brilliant videos. Other, distant, hopes: The The, Thurston Moore with The Thing -- indeed, The Thing, and The Soft Moon. Wonder if Steve Mason would be there... ZXCVBNM
All I want is for Carly Rae Jepsen to play, the rest of the lineup is unimportant.
yaniv297
Interesting year for Primavera, I have no idea how they can top last year's lineup. But it's still pretty early to speculate. I mean, having Radiohead there seemed like a very unlikely fantasy up until a few days before the announcement.

It looks like their is a a lot of big headliners to choose from in 2017 but maybe not many that fit the PS mould enough to make it better than last year at the top of the bill. The XX, Bon Iver, Kraftwerk (Maybe the Wednesday headliner), Gorillaz, Bjork, Frank Ocean and Morrisey are probably the kind of things I expect to be announced and possibly Daft Punk or the Chemicals if they fancy going a bit dance-y Can't be too long before they have to start fishing in the waters of previous headliners. Mr. Overdrive
Metallica Misfits | The Smashing Pumpkins | Marily Manson Bon Iver | Frank Ocean The xx | Grizzly Bear | Morrissey Gorillaz M.I.A. | Justice | Danny Brown Needs to be a reason to justify the €50 increase in VIP ticket. Edited October 21, 2016 by Mr. Overdrive Enhanced the entry.
Nesser
Metallica, Manson and Misfits won't be playing at Primavera, for God's sake. And Morrissey would headline for sure. Maybe sub but that's it. The rest can be more or less likely but in overall fit the Primavera line-up, yeah. In my opinion, it's too early to have a clear shot at what the headliners will be. There are too many options already out and there are even more who we don't know yet if they'll be touring at all or not -hi, Gorillaz. Right now it's easier to search for mid-level bands that have played before like Grizzly Bear, Justice and so.

Refused played Primavera when they made their reunion. Also happened with At The Drive In. Gabi loves booking bands that reunite after a long hiatus. However, Misfits can play Resurrection Fest, Azkena, Mad Cool... God knows... But Primavera is also an option. Metallica and Manson are not bands for Primavera, I agree.
