Anyone going on their own?

There used to be a Bestival website forum which I used to post on a lot and they used to run a forum campsite which included lots of solo Bestivalers young and old and all newbies were welcome. I used to help out quite a bit with that, but missed a year of Bestival and since that time I'm not really sure what's happened as there doesn't seem to be any mention of it on the website any more?

This year I'm probably flying solo but will camping on another campsite a few miles away (which means a decent sleep and showers) - it might be worth looking on Facebook to see if the forum campsite is still running - a guy called Craig / (who also went by the name Ace Ventura  was the main point of contact - also someone called Dave D?)

Yes I`m going on my own, I`ve never been to Bestival before. I did go on my own to Glastonbury last year and I still had a great time.

I've been going on my own to others but I was volunteering there but this time I'm going as a punter!! Where you thinking of camping? I'm considering doing the pitch village or trying to get into green

Ah okay so I just search those names on fb??

Maybe we could meet at some point? That's a good idea camping away from the festival!

I was thinking of going alone last year as I had some friends let me down, ive been to bestival quite a few times before and don't know why I didn't just brace it on my own as I know how friendly everyone is! You'll be absolutely fine and have an awesome time!

I'd try that yeah - they used to be Bestival regulars.

I'm sure you'll find people to socialise with there - it's a very friendly place!

I haven't been to Bestival before, so I'm not too sure where to camp. I'm hoping to arrive around 2 ish, I'm coming down from Birmingham.

Also first time at Bestival and soloing it too and totally clueless where to pitch, decent line up tho so should be fun

The Bestival website says that the colour coded campsites this year are green, red and black. I believe pink was the quiet campsite, Im not sure if they have that this year, not that it matters too much to me.

Hey people :)

I'm so happy to find out there's so many solo campers. This is my first ever festival aswell. I've heard there's meant to be a forum for this somewhere.

If anyone can recommend what camp to pitch at would be very grateful :)

Hope to meet you lovely people there!

This is the only forum that I have been able to find, done a bit of homework and if it stays true to last year the green site is closest to arena so likely to be the loudest and liveliest and fill the quickest, followed by red and black, white possibly being the quiet site,

Morning guys,

I was sitting on the fence for the past couple of months while keeping a lazy eye out for a thread like this on Google. Last night I decided to wing it anyway, then this morning I conducted another search, and boom - solo Bestival thread. :)

Basically I haven't been for quite a few years, and in that time the guy who was our crew's hub for all things festival and dance music related has become a dad.

I tend to get excited, follow my snout, and disappear for hours (possibly days) on end, but it would be good to have a base with cool people in the same boat.

Maybe a WhatsApp group would be useful?

Thinking of heading down on Thursday afternoon.

Also, does anyone have a spare ticket to sell a bit cheaper before I pay full price? ;)

-Johnny

Hellooo, I shall going on my own, as my friends can't make it now, but I reeeeally wanna go. I have been a few times and absolutely loved it!! I found camping in the black site area (although i think it was called something else when I was there last, maybe orange) was good, because it still wasn't too far from everything, but the toilets were not used by tons of people, and there were a few cool, mellow places that stayed open all/most of the night, like the Hooka lounge.

If there are a few people that are in a similar situation and would like to set up tents next to each other, and hang out a bit, that would be cool! I'm quite happy bumbling about and dancing around, but it would be nice to meet up with peeps too!
