They could probably headline but unlikely. I'd be very surprised if they weren't there, pretty high up the bill next year though.

Not last year, but really depends how the new album goes down. If it goes down well theyve more than enough well known tunes to back it up.

I wouldn't call myself a fan i like a few of there songs. But as i said above if, and its a big if ,theyre new album goes well with the general public theres no reason why they couldn't. Theyve enough in there closet to do it. 

They dont seem to be to popular on efests but then neither are cold play or adele

Strange one, big enough to headline all the other UK festivals but not Glastonbury. Not my cup of tea in the slightest mind, find them very formulaic.

Could be a communal taps aff session as they normally seem half dressed. I don't really know them but thought they were good on the pyramid a few years back. Could they not headline the other stage instead?

Not a hope after that album, their worst for many years. 

Not sure why they are sure to play this year if thet didn't last. Biffy at Reading was a late booking so if Glasto wanted them there would be no ties stopping it and they were about.

New album is their worst by far, it's full of cheese whilst trying to be 'authentic' again. Absolute dirge when you put it next to Blackened Sky or even Puzzle.

Can't even see it doing particularly well commercially.

Despite grabbing the same chart placing, it's done roughly half as well in first week sales as the last album (37k v 71k) - which is a huge drop. Singles off it have gone unnoticed again as well.

Their actual peak felt like it was around the turn of the decade and then they claimed on that popularity when they came back so it'd be nuts if they headlined Glastonbury off the back of that success now.

I'm not a huge fan of their early early stuff, a few songs but Puzzle and Only Revs are my favorites. I think they made a mistake by putting Opposites out as a double instead of a single which could have looked stronger with the right mix. I did quite like it on 1st listen and whilst I didnt hate it after, some were easy to skip.

Could they headline? Yes I think so. Would it fall a bit flat a la Mumford in '13? Quite possibly.

As a name, yes they could feasibly be booked for a headline slot. But they shouldn't be.
