logged on, straight through and two seated tickets to take my Mumsie to see Adele the weekend after Glastonbury and her last gig on the tour - can't wait to see Mums  face - she's never been to an outdoor gig - I could cry I'm so excited about seeing her reaction :-)

Aw that's lovely news

I'm having one of those 'everything seems to be on half' kind of weeks.  Hopefully to be followed by a 'some things being concluded' (including the builder showing up, now that would be nice) week.

Have good weekends all, catch you next week.

Evening! Spitfire's an old favourite of mine, reminds me of my student days. What've you been up to since you were last on here? :)

Been trying to get much teaching observation days in schools to start a PGCE next September. I just couldn't afford to do it this year, especially if I took the offers from Bristol & UWE. I think I'm going to take up St. Mary's in Twickenham offer (if they offer again) as it's only down the road from me.

Other than that, work, saving money for a holiday, getting a Glasto ticket via an efester (we have a very active efests facebook group chat), trying to look after my ill mom, two stag do's (Cardiff & Newquay), two weddings, & worked at Leeds fest, not a lot.

I should be saving for uni & a new laptop but I might bung it on a return flight to Indonesia.

She sounds like a barrel of laughs, Guy! Did she suggest any alternatives? I'd be asking for a new back specialist, if I were you. Try to keep your chin up, mate.

Yea funny ah I've  been telling the wife I'm dieing and that she should be nicer to me lol

Evening all :)

This is the life. Nothing says 'it's nearly chr***mas' quite like eating pizza and garlic bread and drinking wine, while watching Apocalypse Now. :D

I hated Apocalypse Now the first time I saw it.  Years later I watched it again and realised how brilliant it is.  Fragolino sounds yummy Gumby.  How do you produce all these boozy delights and manage to keep them til June?  Hope Gumby jr's recovered by the way.

Sorry not been around for a few days.  Been busy as usual trying to keep youngest on course.  His last 2 exams on Monday went ok (thanks for asking @trevethin and @Quark)  The papers arrived about an hour before we did.

Hope your half-assed week leads to some satisfactory conclusions Trevethin, and your Friday night was as brilliant as it promised to be Quark.

@lucyginger good luck with learning the words for your concert.  Ours is in 2 weeks and I'm struggling to remember anything. Haven't noticed any long-tailed tits in our garden, but we have goldfinches now and then.

Well done getting Adele tickets @Funkyfairy! - what a lovely experience to share with your mum.

Chronic pain's a bummer @guypjfreak.  Hope you're able to find an alternative to meds which cease to be effective long term.

Greetings to everyone, as usual I've missed people out.  I'm off to the ball tomorrow night.  Not quite the fairytale though.  It's an annual event here and since the last one there have been various separations/swaps and abandonments (all gone a bit Fleetwood Mac in our village recently!),  but everyone's still going to the ball.  Promises to be like a Christmas Day episode of Eastenders.

Always a sign of a good gig when the first thing you do when you get home is jump in the shower!

You have much to look forward to @lucyginger! Definitely get there for the supports if you can as well :)

Sorry about the back @guypjfreak, my dad has a degenerative condition in his so feel your pain in a roundabout kind of way.

Good luck with the teaching and/or Indonesia flights @Bisque, and hope the ball's not too much of a drama @dizzymoo.

Luckily I changed my mind last week and saved the last of my stash, so now it's a smoke and bed. Hopefully get the ringing out of my ears :)

To be honest, Dizzy, they often don't make it to June! This batch is half for us, and half for presents, but I'll probably start some more next April, so its ready for glasto.

Gumby jr is fine now, thanks, apart from the never ending runny nose that all children seem to have at this time of year.

Morning all, (afternoon here in the Middle East)! Hope everyone is well. @Funkyfairy! great news on securing tickets for Mum, you'll have to keep us informed on how she takes it when you tell her!:)

Hope the gig was a belter @Quark and then arms have stopped ringing.

@mr gumby Apocalypse Now is up there in my top 5 movies, just a phenomenal achievement that it ever got finished at all. If you haven't already seen it then the documentary Hearts of Darkness is well worth a watch. Worth a revisit if you have seen it too.

Hope the back isn't too bad @guypjfreak After back problems myself some years ago I was told by my doctor that once you get back pain it never really goes away, it just dies down for a while before the next flare up. Personally a decent osteopath helped me tremendously and although I have indeed had the odd flare up it has never been as bad as it was. Took 18 months to sort mind. Good luck.

Not much happening my end, im currently bobbing around on a boat in the middle of the Persian Gulf 15 days into a 5 day job! I guess if I was home I'd only be Christmas shopping...

enjoy the weekend lovelies!

Shaun.

Didn't realise you'd gone back out bud. Are you out there for the duration or back home for Xmas?

This one is only supposed to be a short job so with any luck I'll be back home next week and I'll have Christmas off, first Christmas in the new house so it will be nice to be home for it.:)

Urgh. Up at 6am to be in work at 8am on a Sunday is just fucking criminal. Thankfully it's the last time I have to do it as I should be living in the UK in two weeks time.

I need a hug.

Hope you don't have a hangover Lucy loo gingeroooooo

Two weeks will fly by H.M.V, you'll be back in the UK before you know it and hopefully, avoiding 6am wake up calls on a Sunday. Sending a big virtual hug your way!!
