Waiting for the next line up announcement is feeling long.

UK fests are really looking weak this year. (IoW, Lattitude, Reading etc.)

Reading has strong headliners... and all others shite .. tempted with v for jay z... iow is appalling except the undercard

I'm going to Reading this year but mostly because I go with all my friends. V fest looks terrible except for Jay Z imo

Glasto is the least "insane" festival around. Such a boring crowd

Only been that way since it got all commercialised and the festival to do. It's that big fence that is the problem, what you have now is Glastonbury light.

Used to have the most 'insane' festival crowd.

How big is Sting in Belgium? His tour dates fit very well with RW I guess, maybe he could be a sub?

In 2012 Sting co-headlined TW Classic with Lenny Kravitz. ....and Lenny Kravitz headlined RW in 2014 with a massive dance-act in The Prodigy coming on after them....

I have a sneaking suspicion that Kasabian will be added this week. They have announced that they're "playing Ollesummer festival in Tallinn, Estonia on 5th July".

Any thoughts on the likelihood?

Incredibly likely, but alost crazy considering the cost of then they could get a handful of smaller good bands and this is coming from someone who has seen them every year for the past 3 years.

They wouldn't be that costly in Belgium, relatively pretty cheap.

I do have to disagree...

As a festival that has an attendance near to 200,000 I've been in some amazing crowds at Glastonbury. Just depends where you go.

Anyway, back on topic...

Having had the chance to listen to the RW playlist over the past couple of weeks, there's definitely a good mix.

Some bands I cannot wait to see for the first time (Nathaniel Rateliff, Bonobo, White Lies, Crystal Fighters, Arcade Fire, Kaleo).

Some absolute classics (pretty much all the other headliners) and only a couple I will do everything to avoid.

Well rounded in my opinion.

During work whilst pretending to be in online meetings, I've managed to listen to most of the line-up - if no other acts I know are announced, there's still more than enough for me - think its felt a bit poorer with the order of what they've announced, but a couple bands like wolf alice, slaves, wolfmother lower down would be noiceeeeee

Hiw does that work... surely bands will see it as not worth their while playing for such little amounts in other countries ?? How much % do u think they would be cheaper in belgium???

I listened to a podcast with the lead booker for Download festival a few months back, he said Euro fests can get away with paying less because there is less competition than in the UK.

I can't remember the exact figures etc he was coming out with but did use Download Paris as an example. Was an interesting listen.
