Depends what you mean by freedom tbh.  A person alone on a desert island has freedom, doesn't mean their lives are better than someone under a feudal system.

In this day and age of Globalisation I question whether the concept of national sovereignty is still valid.

That said you are perfectly entitled to your view, and your vote.

why do people in the 'minority' think they can stand on a stage and talk down to those of us in the 'majority' we have voted for our freedom and got it.

Because those in the 'minority' were talking to a crowd full of people waking up as equally fucking gutted as they were, and using a public stage to put their points across, that venomous racist c**ts have done their best to fuck everything up for the future

You can take your majority and stick it up your fucking hole

I woke up at about 4am on the Thursday and followed the referendum coverage online; it was clear within an hour that leave had won, which is a bit of a shock to say the least.

At that point it became an interesting experiment; could my love of Glastonbury outweigh my despair at the result? Early on it was looking ropey - James were almost an hour late coming on and I ended up standing by some MDMA guzzling plums cheering about leave winning. I adopted a strategy of hitting the booze pretty hard; I'd come prepared with a two pint plastic stein that I refilled frequently. Ultimately I powered through and had a great day (albeit I pissed like a racehorse).

In many ways Glasto was the perfect place to be for the news; many of us were there for the death of Michael Jackson and this time we were there for a more significant death altogether.

The comments on this thread from some of those who obviously voted to Leave pretty much sum up that the country voted to leave for all the wrong reasons. Reasons that people I know are already regretting and wishing they had voted to Remain.

A vote to Leave the EU is not  a vote to become holier than thou and not a vote to say what you want how you want to others especially those who may not be from your ethnic background.

I am sick to death of the way this country is heading and our 'leaders' ha fucking ha are doing nothing to stop it.

Because they toiled for decades as artists to gain the recognition and following to grant them that platform. They can use it for whatever they'd like.

I'm curious what you think we've actually gained from leaving though?

I'd like to hear a "leaver" tell me why they voted out. Not a single one I've talked to did so based on facts. Everyone of them did so based on deep seated xenophobia and some outright racism. That's why I genuinely hate leavers. They'd rather fuck up this country than be friendly to EU citizens - it's disgusting. I'm willing to be corrected, let me know why you voted out. I'll ask you either to verify the evidence, or ask you "so why is that important to you". And, before long, the nastiness surfaces.

Oh, and we don't need to accept the result - it's wrong. The Germans figured out that referendums only pandered to evil.

Remainers - rise up - don't accept this evil result.

My mate voted to leave.

His argument was "the worlds fucked anyway, I want a bit of anarchy"

It's the best argument to leave I have heard.

I voted to stay.

I was camping on bushy ground and woke up to the neighbours "We've left europe.. Cameron has resigned.. the country is fucked" Instantly I wanted to lock the gates to the festival and live there with 180,000 other happy, spiritual people and never come back to reality.

And this thread just shows how futile it feels arguing with Brexit supporters. Mostly, I feel that I have neither the time or the crayons to explain an argument for staying to them. Most leavers votes appear to be fueled by hate and ignorance rather than based upon any facts. You are willing to fuck up the future of an entire generation based upon absolute bollocks.

Freedom is being able to cross the EU without the need for additional identification or a VISA.

Not cutting yourself off from a beneficial union with lies, racism and scaremongering propaganda.

By voting leave you have cut yourself and future generations off from having the freedom the EU allows - and put many people's livelihoods at risk. Still think that's freedom?

Give your head a wobble will you.

62% of my town voted leave. I wish I hadn't had to come home.

66.3% here... Gutting but hardly surprising.  The small town I live in just outside Wakefield voted UKIP on to the council at the last election so I figured Wakefield was always going to vote to leave

Heard today that the £36m development grant for our town is now in doubt, so well done that 62%. They're still spouting the same, already exposed as nonsense, arguments as well. Too stupid to realise they were being lied to, even after the liars have admitted they were lying. I feel like I'm banging my head against a brick wall. Hate the way this has seemingly split the country.

This is my argument in a nutshell. Four months since the Referendum was announced and I'm still yet to hear a single argument put forward by the Leave campaign or any Leave voter that isn't based on lies, fallacies, insularity, a lack of understanding of how the EU actually works, prejudice or as a protest vote against the current Government or individuals within it.

I would imagine many Leave voters fall into more than one of those categories but of course none of them will discuss it because they know full well their arguments are flawed beyond belief. That's the real killer of this democratic process - the slim majority won't explain WHY they voted the way they did.

So those of you that voted leave....what do you think of events that have happened all over the country since the result was announced??

community centres vandalised, people being attacked on the street??? For what???? Channel 4 broadcast video clips of a town in Yorkshire with people being asked why they voted leave 'to get the Muslims out!' 'To make our own rules'. Are these people for real??? I don't want to resort to name calling of those that voted leave but seriously how the hell has this happened? There can't have been 17 million uneducated fuckwits that voted???

The leave campaign was based on lies!!

I hate Cameron with a passion but even that fucker spoke some sense during the campaign.

The leave voters reading this - hear this

YOU have divided a nation and given a green light to far right extremism, racism and homophobia!! Just look at those in the running for the Tory leadership!!! If you think that bunch aren't gonna fuck over the masses then you are seriously deluded.

Oh and just to clarify.......

It wasn't the EU that has underfunded and screwed up our education system

It wasn't the EU that widened the poverty gap and increased social deprevation

And it certainly isn't the EU that WILL privatise the NHS

BUT well done the fuckers that did now will have even more power to take the country down piece by piece for their own financial gain!!!

Thanks for this. This is how Glastonbury used to be. My brother stopped going because he used to feel that Glastonbury meant something, and that it was saying something important, but now it's just a festival.

we no longer go every year, probably every 2nd or 3rd one now to keep it fresh, and whilst the one's we miss always hurt a bit, we felt we'd dodged a bullet this year with the mud.

i watched that video and it reminded me of the Glastoburies of my youth, when the festival had something to say, and for that reason I am gutted to have missed it.

I saw Paul Heaton with The Housemartins at my very first Glastonbury in 1986 & he had plenty to say back then too. A nearby military airbase (I can't remember which one it is) flew jets low across the site to disrupt the music during his set, (because it was a CND fectival then) - they did that because the festival gave life to an important enough political movement for them to want to disrupt it.

Fantastic to se Glastonbury finding its political roots again this year. Let's keep it going.
