"Whoomp, there it is"

That incredibly irritating thing where crowds chant "Whoomp, there it is" over and over during DJ sets: I've seen it get more and more prevalent on the T in the Park coverage over the years, and it makes some sets almost unwatchable.  Then there were a few outbreaks of it at Wild Life festival the other week, and this weekend it turns out it's reached Glastonbury.

How do we stop this menace ruining Bestival?

Or - am I just being a killjoy and actually it's a brilliant thing?

There are worse things at modern festivals, like people videoing entire sings/sets on there smartphone.

I'm sure one day I'm going to snatch one that's affecting my view, then just throwing it for miles or putting one in my beer.

Maybe DJs should start dropping "whoomp there it is" as soon as the chanting starts and refuse to play anything else until it stops. Admittedly this could backfire quiet badly...

I agree with the phone thing too - I fully support your phone flinging.
