siblin
A slightly different take on the EU Referendum (you've all registered for postal votes haven't you?). Just looking ahead to what its going to be like on Thursday morning when the results come in. Most of us vetrans have been at the festival when global news has broken out and the slightly odd feeling of not really knowing whether it's real, or being able to confirm on BBC news (Michael Jackson etc) http://www.electoralcommission.org.uk/i-am-a/journalist/eu-referendum-count Given that its estimated results start to come in at around 1am, and we should have a reasonable idea which way its gone some time around 4am (where 3/4's of authorities will have declared) depending on how close it is. What will it be like? Should there be a screen with the live results? Of course its not for everyone, but why shouldnt there be a designated place to watch the results? Perhaps there should be a general congregation somewhere (such as leftfield)?
shuttlep
I am going to start a rumor , just as the results come out./ That we have left Europe and joined America.
sassy2012
not sure about TV, but as 3G coverage is now pretty good at the festival you should be able to get a BBC live feed on your phone or something. There's also a discussion in Leftfield on Saturday called "what now for Europe and Britain?" What ever the result it could put a weird spin on the festival atmosphere! somecoolusername
I always watch live election results, like a nerd. I won't be streaming BBC News at the festival or anything like that, but I'll definitely be celebrating the result, if it's a good result! FuzzyDunlop
Glastonbury is an escape from the "real world", the last thing I want is reminding of the EU referendum. I am thankful they have put it when I'm away from reality for 5 days. Edited June 2, 2016 by FuzzyDunlop

I'm looking forward to escaping it to a certain extent when I get to Glastonbury. I'm voting, and I know which way I'm voting. I'll send my vote off before Glastonbury and then just escape from everything for 5 days Real world can wait until Tuesday.
OneLittleFish
I've never seen such a vote where I'd desperately like to see both sides lose out. The standard of campaigning throughout has been horrific.
