Camping in car park on the Tuesday night

Me and my friend are coming from Yorkshire and were looking to travel overnight for the time that the gates open but the coach has sold out before we booked it. We potentially can get to glastonbury on the Tuesday now and I can remember last year hearing about people camping in the car parks on the tuesday so they can get straight in the queue on wednesday morning. Just wondering if anyone has any experience with this to help with where's the best car park to go and mainly if its actually possible to do, what time would be allowed to actually enter the car parks. Or if theres any alternatives to this on the tuesday night.

The car parks open on Tuesday night, what time I'm not sure. People start getting in the queue immediately, there's no camping in the car park! You'd get told to take it down pretty quickly.  I guess you could sleep in your car if you wanted though.  We got in the queue at 6.30am last year and the queue for Gate D was so long it was "closed" and we were sent to Gate A where we queued for quite a while. Folks party in the queue all night though so if you wanted to join it overnight you could. Not sure you'd get any sleep though!

So could you be dropped off on the Tuesday outside the gates and just go and queue overnight without a car?
