I think its still likely that, because there is no glasto next year, arctic monkeys will play both R+L and whatever that Scottish festival is called (got some weird name) xXx

you're really clutching at straws that AM are gonna play R&L aren't you haha.

Latest rumour is that they're playing Tramlines, which if true I think will discount them from R&L.

Would it not be strange if TRNSMT are doing daily announcements (or announcements that would have the whole lineup public this early) to annouce AM, when the rumour for reading is that they wouldn't be released until the last announcement which by then they'd have a single / something more concrete??

Personally, I don't see AM doing TRNSMT or R&L. Reckon they'll do Tramlines as a homecoming show, maybe a couple of exclusive intimate shows over the summer period, and then a proper stadium tour later this year/early next year.

Think they'll be properly on the festival scene in 2019.

Surely it'd be best for them, allow the album to come out and fans to learn the songs - would make their inevitable R&L performance that much better

Aren't Arctics too big for tramlines?? I get that it's in Sheffield but I doubt they'll demand any less money and it's not really renowned for it's huge headliners. Guess they could bump the ticket price up but i'm not so sure.

As @TheDHolford said the other day, this is the 10th anniversary of Tramlines and they're supposedly moving to a larger site for the main stage. Would obviously be a huge booking, but doesn't seem to be ridiculous.

It depends.

There's an attempt going on to move the fest from the city centre to Hillsboro Park, which would allow it to have much bigger acts for its main stage.

And if it does get the park, the no-brainer band for them to go for to relaunch it as that changed festival is the local boys - tho whether they'd get them is another thing.

ohhhh that's quite interesting, could see that working then if they're expanding. Would be one hell of a coup if they got them.

Courteeners seem to be a bigger deal in Scotland than anywhere else bar Manchester for some reason. Sold out standing for The Hydro pretty much straight away and sold a good chunk of seating tickets too. I think no matter who the headliner was Courteeners would be above Wolf Alice.

Nah only for your meat and potatoes cack. Liam Fray's mob would draw a crowd of about 10 people if they were on the bill supporting a Radiohead-esque critically acclaimed headliner.

Not being funny, but I think Jaden Smith would be a good booking. Like I'm not sure I see it happening but his new album has 17 tracks, over an hour long and he deffo takes inspiration from people like Childish Gambino and A$AP Rocky. 1Xtra headliner or sub would work, or afternoon NME.

I was expecting this lmao, say what you want but in my honest opinion it's the kind of rap that would go down really well. It's not trap, it's not oldhead stuff, it's a balance of everything. Honestly I think it would go down pretty well. Just my opinion though.
