Wow, 6min38 seconds of filthy goodness. Gett Off is an absolute tune. (Not sure I want to see 180,000 asses wandering around a field though!)

I love the bit in the video where he looks like he accidentally drops the mic so decides to pick it up while do the splits. Still not 100% sure he was human...

Not seen this before but is a perfect example of his live shows.

Yeah, I was a little young to see him in his more "lithe" performing days, but he definitely still had the moves during the few times I did see see him. His piano-top dancing at Hop Farm was a sight to behold.

Opening night at the O2 1st song he raised up from the stage and nailed Purple Rain. I Cried. I'm 6ft 4 and I was a mess.

What was it like living whilst Prince was in his pomp? To anyone who can answer, I'm too young sadly

It's sad to say but he was in his pomp this time last week. If you'd have seen him in Atlanta he'd have blown your mind. That's what adds to the tragedy.

Ay. He blew my mind during his 2014 run of shows, if that wasn't 'his pomp' I doubt I'd have coped with seeing him during the 80's. Had so much more to give, as evidenced by the strength of the pair of albums in 2014 which to my mind were as strong as much he'd ever released. Hopefully his later stuff will now be appreciated where it was perhaps taken for granted at the time, if one good thing can come out of this.

EDIT: That reminds me, actually. My heart is with Ida, Donna and Hannah - it was never really confirmed either way as to whether Prince had 'broken up' 3rdeyegirl, but I hope that they either come back together or continue to make music together in his absence 'cos they were phenomenally tight.

Sometimes It Snows In April

Tracy died soon after a long fought civil war,
just after I'd wiped away his last tear
I guess he's better off than he was before,
A whole lot better off than the fools he left here
I used 2 cry 4 Tracy because he was my only friend
Those kind of cars don't pass u every day
I used 2 cry 4 Tracy because I wanted to see him again,
But sometimes sometimes life ain't always the way...

Sometimes it snows in April
Sometimes I feel so bad, so bad
Sometimes I wish life was never ending,
and all good things, they say, never last

Springtime was always my favorite time of year,
A time 4 lovers holding hands in the rain
Now springtime only reminds me of Tracy's tears
Always cry 4 love, never cry 4 pain
He used 2 say so strong unafraid to die
Unafraid of the death that left me hypnotized
No, staring at his picture I realized
No one could cry the way my Tracy cried

Sometimes it snows in April
Sometimes I feel so bad
Sometimes, sometimes I wish that life was never ending,
And all good things, they say, never last

I often dream of heaven and I know that Tracy's there
I know that he has found another friend
Maybe he's found the answer 2 all the April snow
Maybe one day I'll see my Tracy again

Sometimes it snows in April
Sometimes I feel so bad, so bad
Sometimes I wish that life was never ending,
But all good things, they say, never last

All good things that say, never last
And love, it isn't love until it's past

The grim reaper of 2016 - please stop now - enough is enough, another authentic genius   taken from us far too early.  My daughter was born whilst 'The most beautiful girl in the world' was playing.  A cliche but another person in the 'soundtrack' to my life has gone .....

RIP sweet prince

I was lucky enough to catch one of his secret after-shows a few years ago and come 5am in the morning he was still tearing the roof off. "It's an energy exchange... you give to us, we give to you" he said to us in the crowd. Easily one of the best nights of my life.

I showed this clip to my husband and he couldn't believe how good he was.

I saw him more than once at his O2 residency.  Every time it was a different show.  He played a medley of a number of songs and told us to

"call the babysitters... He was going to go on and on..

He had too many hits"  in his case it was true

A 10 min encore of the purple rain hook. I loved every minute.  He also appeared at his after show.   Awesome..  just awesome.
