I've been twice on my own.  Both times I met folk who I spent time with over the course of the festival whilst also spending all the time I wanted alone (solitude is bliss).

I heartily recommend it.  It is something of a different experience from the usual shared experience with friends/family.

You're never alone at Glasto, I went solo first time I went, got chatting and made friends within 5 minutes of setting up camp.
