Hi there :D

Am new to the Festival scene, but am looking to make a solo trip to Rock IM park.  It's taken ages to sort out the logistics of getting there, but quick questions

a ) Anyone also going up for meeting on the other side

b ) Best to fly into Frankfurt?

c) Any chance of buying camping stuff in Nuremberg?

d) What day is it best to get to the Park itself?

e) What time does the festival finish? Is it worth staying the Sunday night somewhere and leaving the next day?

We're going but we're staying in town as we've got a hotel (We're too old and grumpy for camping) But happy to try and meet up at some point.

We spent most of our time in an Irish bar called Finnegans last year and only went in to see 3-4 bands. The line up this year is a much stronger so hoping to be on site more than last year. It was 30 degrees plus (heatwave) so hoping it will be a little cooler this year. (The average is mid 20s)

We flew from Munich last year and Stuttgart this year. Transfers took 2-2.5 hours and booking in advance is advised. You'll get it cheaper.

There is a high street but I have no idea whether there was any camping shops.

You can get the Train, Tram or Taxi (10 euros) The site is about 2-3 miles from town so not too far.

The stages go on a lot later than in the UK with 3rd stage going on until 2 am. So main stage headliner goes on. Then after they finish, 2nd stage headliner, then the 3rd.

I hope this helps and feel free to ask any more questions.

Yes, there is a hardware shop and a Lidl located close(ish) to the festival ground which sell tents and stuff. There is also an on site store which you can preorder stuff and pick up on site: https://www.helgaa-festival.de/en/festival/rock-im-park-2016

Its a little pricey but very handy.

Last band finishes after midnight so it is worth staying if you want to see those bands or just hang around and get drunk!
